[edit]Could you please create an account? It looks like you're a long-term contributor, yet by using a number of (closely related) IPs. Thanks, Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 14:51, 25 October 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you for your suggestion. This is a continuing (and inexplicable afaic) concern of other editors. Outside of the usual Wikimush mumbo-jumbo regarding the supposed advantages of having an arbitrarily made up handle that is in fact just as anonymous as a series of numbers, could you provide a compelling reason? 65.88.88.57 (talk) 14:57, 25 October 2016 (UTC)
- Make it easier for other editors to keep track of your edits, and to compare the similarities and differences between you and, not for example, 208.87.234.201, an account which also edited at Talk:Choiceless awareness#Refs in favor pof your stance, and who is currently blocked. Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 15:11, 25 October 2016 (UTC)
- I've no idea why other editors would like to keep track of my edits. Each one stands on its own. I'm as good as the last one. And afaic, so is everyone else. It is hard enough to deal with just that. I have also found that time-consuming discussions (like perhaps the present one) are more likely when people assume a false sense of familiarity. As for the blocked IP, for me that is neither here nor there. Any blocked user can return with a different handle, it's not rocket science. In this respect all "named" users would be suspect. 65.88.88.57 (talk) 15:25, 25 October 2016 (UTC)
- We want to keep track of your edits, precisely because of discussions like this one: to see if they have happened before. They have. And two of your IPs are curently blocked. And you already do have an account: User:Ip658888x. So, use it please. Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 04:15, 26 October 2016 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
