This page documents notable tornadoes and tornado outbreaks worldwide in 2025. Strong and destructive tornadoes form most frequently in the United States, Bangladesh, and Eastern India, but they can occur almost anywhere under the right conditions. Tornadoes also develop occasionally in southern Canada during the Northern Hemisphere's summer and somewhat regularly at other times of the year across Europe, Asia, and Australia. Tornadic events are often accompanied with other forms of severe weather including strong thunderstorms, winds and hail.

It is believed that 2025's La Niña will influence tornado patterns.[1]

EF2 damage near Marion, Louisiana.

A small tornado outbreak occurred as a squall line passed over Dixie Alley on the afternoon and evening of January 5,[3][4] producing at least eleven tornadoes. The first tornado, which has not yet been rated, touched down in Southeast Lincoln County, Arkansas and was the only tornado of the outbreak to occur in the state. Two tornadoes touched down in Louisiana, including the strongest tornado of the outbreak, a high-end EF2 in Union Parish that swept away a garage. Seven tornadoes touched down in Mississippi, including a low-end EF2 that toppled powerlines in Noxubee County and an EF1 near Pelahatchie, Mississippi that prompted a PDS warning[5] and caused an indirect injury when a train ran into a downed tree.[6] The last tornado of the outbreak was an EF1 that briefly touched down in Pickens County, Alabama along the border with Mississippi.[7]
