"The World Is Yours" is a song recorded by Swedish melodic death metal band Arch Enemy. It was released worldwide as a single on 14 July 2017 via digital download and streaming as the first single of their tenth studio album Will to Power.
Background
[edit]"The World Is Yours" was the first single to be released from the band's tenth studio album Will to Power, and was the first new song from the band since 2014's War Eternal. The track was released a few weeks after the announcement of the new Arch Enemy album, to be released on 8 September 2017.[1] The music video for "The World is Yours" premiered on 14 July 2017, the same day that the song was released worldwide.[2]
In a track-by-track video detailing the songs from Will to Power, while discussing "The World Is Yours", guitarist Michael Amott revealed that "it was the first song that [he] wrote for the album".[3]
The title of the instrumental opening track of Will to Power, "Set Flame to the Night", is taken from the lyrics of the first verse of "The World Is Yours".
