[edit]I just removed a few of the tags that I thought was too specific to be used on cricket articles. If I've done something wrong, feel free to revert, but it just didn't seem sensible to have a lot of parameters that aren't going to be used much. Sam Vimes 11:33, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah no problem. I just left them on initially because I thought we would run into conflicts with some of the other WikiProjects that have their templates on cricket articles, such as Sydney Cricket Ground (Sydney WikiProject). --mdmanser 11:41, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
'List' class
[edit]The coding does not seem to allow for a List class, but it would be useful if it did. —Moondyne 04:21, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
New version
[edit]There is a new updated version of this template which uses the meta-template {{WPBM}} is on the /sandbox. Would there be any comments/concerns about using it? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 20:24, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
- I have now implemented this. Please let me know if there are any problems. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 16:13, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
Uppercase "Unknown"
[edit]This template is defaulting to an uppercase "Unknown", however several of the unknown categories (as can be seen at Category:Unknown-importance cricket articles) use a lowercase "unknown". This is breaking categorization of pages such as Talk:1958–59 Ashes series. --Pascal666 08:55, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
- There certainly needs to be consistency. Which do you prefer? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 09:04, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
- Whichever is most prevalent outside of this particular template. --Pascal666 13:25, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
Master Category
[edit]Most wikiprojects have a master category for their projects, Category:WikiProject_Iran_articles, Category:WikiProject_Football_articles,Category:WikiProject_Oregon_pages, Category:WikiProject_Motorcycling_articles, Category:WikiProject_Metal_articles as examples. I would suggest doing it for this project too for organizational and statistical purposes. βcommand 20:11, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
- wikiproject members, I added the category please let me know if this is a problem. This is so your project can get the bot information mentioned at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Cricket#Bot_which_automatically_updates_unreferenced_biography_of_living_persons_daily Thanks.Okip (formerly Ikip) 02:13, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
Template-protected edit request on 13 November 2016
[edit]Hello. I've noticed that several changes have been made to the template this year and it no longer populates the various x-Class cricket articles of ZZZ-importance sub-categories. Can you please investigate and rectify if possible. I could probably fix it myself if I still had edit access so please let me know if I can assist. Thanks.

- @BlackJack: It appears that Nazcheema (talk · contribs) broke it in this edit - there is no such parameter as
|HOOK_QUALIMP=
. --Redrose64 (talk) 08:55, 14 November 2016 (UTC)- Check subcats of Category:Cricket articles by quality and importance now. --Redrose64 (talk) 09:06, 14 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Redrose64: Hello, RedRose. That's brilliant. Yes, I understand the problem. And he obviously didn't do a full "system test" and check the interfacing categories. Well done and thanks for saving me a job. Jack | talk page 10:46, 14 November 2016 (UTC)

New set of taskforces have been added to the WikiProject as per this discussion. Amended banner shell is available at Template:WikiProject Cricket/sandbox. It should be published to the main banner. Vestrian24Bio (TALK) 07:04, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose. TfD is the proper place to handle template mergers. Gonnym (talk) 06:41, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Gonnym: This is just addition of new taskforces and some note stuff, which has nothing to do with template mergers or the ongoing TfD. Vestrian24Bio (TALK) 09:19, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
- Exactly what the TfD is about. Still oppose. Gonnym (talk) 09:21, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Gonnym Would you mind clarifying what would exactly be done if the TfD is made consensus to merge... Vestrian24Bio (TALK) 09:27, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
- I actually would mind. I don't like having discussion in two places. That is a question for the TfD, which I can answer there. Gonnym (talk) 09:46, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
- That's fine with me; but just for the record, I placed this request here 3 hours before it was nominated at the TfD and the draft was made about 4 weeks ago, so this is where the discussion actually begun anyways. Vestrian24Bio (TALK) 10:01, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
