Template-protected edit request on 8 December 2017
[edit]This edit request has been answered. Set the |answered= or |ans= parameter to no to reactivate your request. |
Please change the "main text" where it currently says:
- MAIN_TEXT = This template is within the scope of ...
to instead say:
- MAIN_TEXT = This {{#ifeq:{{NAMESPACENUMBER}}|1|article|{{#ifeq:{{NAMESPACENUMBER}}|7|file|{{#ifeq:{{NAMESPACENUMBER}}|11|template|{{#ifeq:{{NAMESPACENUMBER}}|15|category|{{#ifeq:{{NAMESPACENUMBER}}|109|book|{{#ifeq:{{NAMESPACENUMBER}}|119|draft|page}}}}}}}}}}}} is within the scope of ...
The current wording reads as if this wikiproject will always and only transclude its banner on talk pages in namespace 11. It is counter intuitive to call all pages a template even while the vast majority will actually be articles in our main space.
The requested modification will cause the template to assess which namespace it is transcluded to, and subsequently render the appropriate corresponding output.
Thank you.--John Cline (talk) 14:31, 8 December 2017 (UTC)
- Have you tested this yet?
- Better to test: This {{#switch:{{NAMESPACENUMBER}}|1=article|7=file|11=template|15=category|109=book|119=draft|#default=page}} ... StevenJ81 (talk) 18:51, 8 December 2017 (UTC)
- Done. Other wikiproject templates use the coding
{{pagetype|{{{class|}}}}}
to generate this text, so I've used that here. -- John of Reading (talk) 07:47, 9 December 2017 (UTC)
Now we need "needs-infobox" line please
[edit]For this Category:Athletics articles needing infoboxes. Thanks. --Kasper2006 (talk) 05:24, 1 October 2019 (UTC)
