@Nmmwiki, Wowzers122, and Rastakwere: Regarding your (Nmmwiki's) recent edit here: A navigation template is not normally meant to have two links to the same article, using two different piped words (visible to the reader) that point to a single article, unless it's to a particular subsection. We also have the problem that ethnic cleansing is a fuzzy term. According to the current lead of ethnic cleansing, Although the term ethnic cleansing has no legal definition under international criminal law, it constitutes a crime against humanity and may also fall under the Genocide Convention.[2][5][6]
If the aim it to point out that reliable sources have used the term "ethnic cleansing" about Western Tigray, including Humera, then one option is is in the first section of the article War crimes in the Tigray War#War crime classification, where, I think, adding some sourced information within the crimes against humanity section would make sense for "ethnic cleansing". Alternatively, the Humera massacre article could be expanded with a new section such as Ethnic cleansing in Western Tigray, based on the sources that talk about a wider pattern of "ethnic cleansing" in Western Tigray (since Humera is part of the wider pattern), and then a link from here to that subsection would, it seems to me, be justified. This template needs to improve. It pushes for the Tigray narrative while excluding crucial content that are related to other victims (Amhara & Afar) in the Northern Ethiopia war which is also known as the Tigray war. I added the POV template to encourage editors to help improve it. Petra0922 (talk) 06:29, 3 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Update: XTheBedrockX (talk) removed the tag before closing the ongoing discussion on the POV and quality issue the template currently reflects. No need to remove the Tag in a rush before consensus is reached per WP:MTR. Petra0922 (talk) 18:31, 6 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I removed it primarily because just adding the tag as is causes it to jut out awkwardly on every page the template appears on. If you really think it should be here, there should be a "noinclude /noinclude" so that it keeps to just this page, where it's most relevant. XTheBedrockX (talk) 18:39, 6 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I know what you mean about the "aesthetic" appearance of tags but I think it could also encourage others to help improve issues. Don't you think, the template needs to reflect the gravity of the damage for all parties caught up in the war? Petra0922 (talk) 18:48, 6 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And if you want to seek making a major change for something as contentious as this topic, you need to reach a consensus and discuss with other editors on what should be done. The current consensus is to call this the Tigray War. If you want the title of this article to change, then request a move at Talk:Tigray War and see what people have to say. Clearly. The point of this discussion is to fix the WP:NOT issue on this template and related articles. There seems to be a coordinated effort that directly demonstrates WP:SOAPBOX or WP:PROMOTION, and applied on the Wikipedia platform more specifically to the topic we are discussing here or on my talk page. That is why i mentioned the move discussion for this template. I will add it under controversial move.Petra0922 (talk) 10:43, 12 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
