Opinion
[edit]I'm finding that this template presents conflicts and creates whitespace as it interacts with images on mainspace articles, specifically for IE users (of which I am not). I also have to question the use of pastel colors. I'm not certain which would be a better choice, but I definitely don't think that pastel blues work. --Born2flie (talk) 17:15, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
- The simplest way to prevent bunching problems is to make a navigation box version of this template, using the {{Navbox}} base template. Navboxes go at the bottoms of articles where there is plenty of room. I personally do not like complex navigation templates that use the infobox style, because they compete with proper infoboxes, images, etc. for space, especially in articles with only short text content. --Teratornis (talk) 20:13, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
Balloons unpowered?
[edit]This template asserts that a bolloon is "unpowered". While I understand why someone would distinguish it so, it is unfortunately incorrect. For example, a typical hot air balloon uses power from combustion of gas to create hot air buoyancy and vertical acceleration. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 03:50, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
Feature request
[edit]Can we add the ability to hide and show this template? It interferes with the placement of the edit links for sections downstream in the article, especially when pictures are included, and even if the pictures are intended to appear in later sections. --Born2flie (talk) 15:44, 20 September 2009 (UTC)
- Fixed I transferred the
changesrequired markup to the template from my sandbox. Default is expanded, soand there is no need to reconfigure the template on any pages. Readers can now simply hide the table if they choose to. --Born2flie (talk) 12:44, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
- On the same issue, can we add an option to show or hide the template using a parameter in the template on each page? A re-work of the template to make it a bit shorter and more user-friendly might also be a good idea. Any ideas? - BilCat (talk) 11:30, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
- Any reason why it cant be a bottom nav box it might make it smaller and easier to read ? MilborneOne (talk) 14:40, 5 January 2010 (UTC)

- The Navbox is presently displayed at Autogyro together with the infonavbox, for comparison. Has this been discussed elsewhere? TGCP (talk) 22:49, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

- Since your comment the other day I have raised it at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Aircraft#Seriesbox aircraft categories for discussion. MilborneOne (talk) 22:53, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
- How about the table shown at User:DexDor#Aircraft_categories - could this be turned into an infobox ? I think it's neater than the format shown at Autogyro. DexDor (talk) 20:26, 17 July 2011 (UTC)
- I've turned it into an infobox (albeit with a lot of "nbsp"s to get the spacing right) - any comments ? DexDor (talk) 06:56, 19 July 2011 (UTC)
- An alternative infobox (thanks to Steelpillow) has been placed on Autogyro for comparison. DexDor (talk) 21:28, 19 July 2011 (UTC)
