Personalities

[edit]

How is the "Personalities" list decided? Should Michele Norris or Michel Martin also be included? GeneralBelly (talk) 13:24, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sure I don't think there is a metric for deciding it. If they host an NPR show, I guess you should just add them. —Justin (koavf)TCM13:33, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I went ahead and added all the hosts of the shows on the template but some of them are showing up on certain pages and not on others, e.g. the Magliozzis are not showing up on the template on their own pages. Anyone know why? GeneralBelly (talk) 19:55, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Huh? I see the template on both of their pages. —Justin (koavf)TCM02:38, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I didn't explain it clearly. They all have the template on their pages but if you go to some, e.g. Ray Magliozzi's page, you'll see the old template that doesn't include any of the people I added. Oddly if you go to Marian McPartland - whom I added to the template more recently - the template on her page is the current one. Odd. GeneralBelly (talk) 10:03, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm lost That's not possible - that's not how templates work. You might be accessing this from your browser's cache somehow, I guess. See this screenshot. —Justin (koavf)TCM11:12, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Aha - you're right about the cache. Weird. I was very confused by it all. Thanks! GeneralBelly (talk) 12:07, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Planet Money podcast

[edit]

I added Planet Money, although, to my knowledge, it is not broadcast on the air but is exclusively available online as a podcast. The show's relationship to This American Life (PRI) and relevance to the current economic saga has made it quite popular ([1], [2], [3]). It's in the "Productions" section, which does not specify radio-only productions. Rich jj (talk) 14:47, 20 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Science Friday

[edit]

Shouldn't that be listed as a subset of Talk of the Nation instead of as a separate program? Purplebackpack89 14:48, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Since Talk of the Nation's cancelation, perhaps not. Morganfitzp (talk) 23:25, 24 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Current vs. former confusion

[edit]

What's the metric for this? For example, Radiolab used to have NPR's name in its credits and his since removed it. Is it a former production of NPR? It's still distributed to NPR stations, as are so many other programs. How do we decide what goes where on this template? Morganfitzp (talk) 23:28, 24 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, and for that matter, several people listed as 'former' in the template have locally produced shows that are carried nationally by NPR as of 2024: e.g. Brooke Gladstone, while Alison Stewart has a local show on the NPR New York affiliate, WNYC. Bruxism (talk) 06:05, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Korva Coleman and Eric Deggans should have entries now too. Bruxism (talk) 06:07, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
A lot more needs to be updated. Some current shows are not listed by any producer or distributor. Bruxism (talk) 06:19, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
