Source Code
[edit]Hello. I have a question, is there a source code for this template (and others) which you can easily copy? I'm trying to us the template for a wiki, but am unsure how to do it since I don't know the source code. On some templates, and example is displayed at the top of the page which makes it easy to transfer it somewhere else. On others, such as this, there is no example. If they were added to all templates, that would be helpful. Thanks. MoneyHurricane (talk) 12:46, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
- @MoneyHurricane: If you click edit on the page, and then scroll to the bottom, then underneath the edit window is a list of "Pages transcluded onto the current version of this page". That's where all the pages involved in generating the template's output, are linked. The core template is template:infobox, but that's a very complicated template nowadays. Does that help answer your question? If not, please provide more details, or links to examples of desired input. Quiddity (talk) 23:52, 18 March 2017 (UTC)
- @Quiddity: Thank, it does. I also discovered the export feature which makes things a lot easier. On a side note, do you know where the #if:, #ifempty: stuff is located and what is it run by? Thank you for your help. MoneyHurricane (talk) 22:31, 20 March 2017 (UTC)
- @MoneyHurricane: Great! And yes, those features are documented at Help:Magic_words#Conditional (I'm not familiar with their usage though). :) (Sidenote: the best place to ask these kinds of questions, if nobody responds on the relevant talkpage within a day or two, is over at the Teahouse (link already on your usertalkpage). - @Quiddity: Ok, thanks for providing me with this info. Have a nice day. :D MoneyHurricane (talk) 22:14, 21 March 2017 (UTC)
- @MoneyHurricane: I created this template. I just thought I would mention that it only currently works for the "North American winter" series and would require modifications to work elsewhere. Master of Time (talk) 22:24, 21 March 2017 (UTC)
