Championships
[edit]Anyway we could add a major championships section to this template? Mann Cup, Minto Cup, Ross Cup, Victory Trophy, Presidents Cup, Founders Cup, World Indoor Lacrosse Championship, World Lacrosse Championship, etc.... DMighton (talk) 03:52, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
As currently configured, I would argue this template makes no sense. It is listing 20 specific Canadian Box Lacrosse leagues, but not the 100+ American collegiate leagues (yes, I started counting them). As a template, we shouldn't have this much detail on the Canadian Box Lacrosse leagues. Can someone clean this up? Or do you really want 100+ leagues added in lieu of the 5 summary headings for the American collegiate leagues? It will make this template a LOT bigger than it is currently. - Maybe the field leagues should have their own template? I am satisfied with the amount of detail on the Canadian Box end of it... and feel it shouldn't be decreased. DMighton (talk) 00:52, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
Name change
[edit]The name and title of this template is "Field lacrosse" but in includes both field lacrosse (men's) and women's lacrosse leagues. So there are a couple of options.
- Split the templates into separate men's and women's templates. Most work.
- Rename to "Field and women's lacrosse leagues". Easy.
- Can't just use "Lacrosse leagues" because the general lacrosse includes box lacrosse.
I favor the first option. - Mnnlaxer | talk | stalk 01:19, 4 December 2017 (UTC)
- I agree. The men's and women's outdoor games have significant rules differences, amounting to separate codes of the sport, just as box (indoor) lacrosse is also a separate code. Either all three should have separate templates, or all three should be in one template, as used to be the case before the box lax template was spun off. Actually, I'd rather merge them all, and trim the non-notable fully amatuer leagues from the combined template. But since I don't think that would gain consensus, splitting the women's leagues off is the best solution. oknazevad (talk) 01:52, 4 December 2017 (UTC)
- I actually like the fact you can see all the rinky dink leagues around, but don't want defunct leagues included. I'll wait a week or so for reaponses and then take care of it. - Mnnlaxer | talk | stalk 13:50, 4 December 2017 (UTC)
