"European launch systems"
[edit]I assume the exclusion of Russian rockets is because, while they are technically European, they are not by the ESA, in which case I think calling this template "ESA launch systems" would be more accurate TMV943 (talk) 03:36, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
- That would be very inaccurate; Europa pre-dated ESA, and the Ariane rockets are operated by Arianespace and built by EADS - while ESA is involved in the programme and uses the rockets for its missions, that is done through contractors. ESA does not physically build, own or operate these vehicles. --W. D. Graham 09:16, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
- So what distinction prevents Russian rockets from being considered European? TMV943 (talk) 19:51, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
- They are Russian first and European second. This navbox lists rockets which are primarily European (i.e. not considered part of another country's programme). Rockets of European countries without their own navboxes are listed in the footnote, but Russia/USSR/CIS has its own template and adding all of their rockets here would completely flood the footnote, so they aren't included. --W. Arca Space / Haas
[edit]the Haas series of test vehicles from Arca Space are shown as cancelled. Is this because they are no longer Euopean despite being in development? Stgpcm (talk) 12:32, 23 August 2017 (UTC)
