LaLaParuZa Template
[edit]@Germaperry01, Thijslandsmeer, and Griffindaly: Since someone has some problems following the template rules, I came up with this solution regarding the placements of the Lipsync of LaLaParuZa of S15.
My solution is to use the 'STAY' buttons, for competitors that have been saved via lipsync (in the same way we did it on S14), and the 'SAVE' button (the same used for the Goldenbar twist) that can be used to explain why Spice was saved on the episone. Below is an example of what I mean:
<-- To be rewritten
Anetra | STAY |
---|---|
Loosey LaDuca | STAY |
Luxx Noir London | STAY |
Malaysia Babydoll Foxx | STAY |
Marcia Marcia Marcia | STAY |
Mistress Isabelle Brooks | STAY |
Salina EsTitties | STAY |
Sasha Colby | STAY |
Spice | SAVE |
Jax | ELIM |
In this way we can solve the issue while respecting the template rules about the easy readability for people suffering from short-sightedness or certain types of colour-blindness, since we respect the use of the buttons provided. Let me know your opinions. Dominikcapuan (talk) 02:36, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
- The best solution is to keep all the queens safe and define Anetra and Jax as the BTM2 instead of over complicating the chart with STAY, SAVE or OTHER placements. Since the Wikipedia track records have chosen not the define things such as HIGH and LOW there's no need to define ROUNDS or STAYING or SAVING. The Lalaparuza was a maxi-challenge... the bottom two were Anetra and Jax and there was no winner. It's that simple. 2die444 (talk) 03:38, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
I do think that this is a more suitable chart for the LaLaPaRuZa, because at the end of the day is the final placement of the queen that matters, and this highlights that perfectly. Germaperry01 (talk) 03:15, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
agree the STAY and SAVE provide adequate context for what happened in the episode (ie more than just SAFE), while also not over complicating with Round 1/Round 2/Round 3, which can be found in the lip-sync chart/episode summary. these seems like the most elegant and effective solution to me Griffindaly (talk) 19:40, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
S15 Lalaparuza
[edit]Hi @Germaperry01, Thijslandsmeer, and Griffindaly:, this is a suggestion for the Lip Sync Lalaparuza placements. Since the Lalaparuza is becoming a main challenge I think we need to define new buttons that reflect their placements more clearly. Using Round 1, Round 2, and Round 3 could be a great idea.
Look below for a suggested example. For this specific case we could either keep Anetra as BTM or R3, and Spice as SAVE.
Anetra | R3
|
---|---|
Loosey LaDuca | R1
|
Luxx Noir London | R2
|
Malaysia Babydoll Foxx | R2
|
Marcia Marcia Marcia | R1
|
Mistress Isabelle Brooks | R1
|
Salina EsTitties | R1
|
Sasha Colby | R1
|
Spice | SAVE |
Jax | ELIM |
But we could also put Spice as R3 and Anetra as BTM2 because technically if Round 3 had occurred between the three of them, one would have stayed and final two would have lip synced for their lives. So we could also state that:
Anetra | BTM |
---|---|
Loosey LaDuca | R1
|
Luxx Noir London | R2
|
Malaysia Babydoll Foxx | R2
|
Marcia Marcia Marcia | R1
|
Mistress Isabelle Brooks | R1
|
Salina EsTitties | R1
|
Sasha Colby | R1
|
Spice | R3
|
Jax | ELIM |
Thank you, and I hope you really consider my suggestion!
The STAY buttom
[edit]Hm, I feel like putting the STAY button indicates that a lipsync smackdown happened on the season because we’ve already used it to indicate this particular “challenge”, such as on S14. Using only SAFE, BTM and ELIM could mean it was a regular challenge where everybody did bad, which lead to nobody winning it, but having a bottom 2 and an eliminated queen. With that being said, I think the STAY button is appropriate in this case. 2804:214:862E:3022:109B:A7D9:468:5000 (talk) 05:52, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
- I disagree, I feel since RuPaul clearly said "If you win your lip sync you will be SAFE from elimination - until two queens remain to battle it out for a lip sync for your life." There was never supposed to be a challenge winner so a misunderstanding of everyone doing bad doesn't really matter since the queens are declared SAFE. I also believe that the SAVE button is not appropriate here at all because that was the button used for the Chocolate Bar twist that occurred after Bosco lost her lip sync and was eliminated, and since we are not using specific buttons such as HIGH or LOW there's no need to over complicate the chart as it could lead to mislead understandings. I think the best option is to declare the queens all safe and Anetra and Jax BTM. 2die444 (talk) 09:34, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
- I strongly agree with this, because on DRUK3, during the Draglexa challenge, nobody won and the chart look exactly like this. This challenge requires a different type of chart mainly because of its different nature! Germaperry01 (talk) 18:17, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
STAY
[edit]Ugh, ok, it’s not that deep… It’s just to avoid misunderstandings… 2804:214:862E:3022:109B:A7D9:468:5000 (talk) 06:09, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
Keep it Simple
[edit]Leave the chart as simple – do not try to put lots of data on one chart. We have already decided to not use HIGH and LOW placements, using SAVE, STAY, BTM placements all for one episode overcrowds and overcomplicates the data. If you believe this aligns with the easy readability rules, look again. Instead of simplifying the data, we are overcomplicating it with too many buttons. The best option to provide cohesion to the chart is to keep the queens as SAFE, and the bottom two as BTM and ELIM respectively since there is no challenge winner - and since that was what they were declared: "SAFE".
If you want to bring up last season, the context was completely different since the STAY button was used as a way to portray that queens who were put in the BTM that previous week had stayed and not been eliminated. In addition the SAVE button was used as a signification that Bosco was saved after being eliminated. 2die444 (talk) 09:47, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
hi @2die444: the reason HIGH and LOW are no longer used is not because they are overcrowded or overcomplicated. they are avoided because they are not verifiable per reliable sources (i.e. there are some episodes where a girl receives both positive and negative critique and there is significant dissension over whether she was HIGH or LOW). because the show doesn’t specify who is high or low, only who wins and who is in the bottom, editors assigning high or low placements constitutes WP:SYNTHESIS or WP:ORIGINALRESEARCH, which is to be avoided. see WP:VERIFY for more details.
this is not a comparable case. it is clear, explicit, and verifiable who won their lipsync vs. who was saved by the episodes twist. these placements are perfectly compliant with accessibility rules, so long as there is both a color-based AND a textual signifier for what each placement means. the only accessibility violation would be if only color is used to differentiate placements. (eg. the formerly common yellow SAFE placement)
thank you for your thoughts, but it seems consensus is building around the current format. Griffindaly (talk) 19:47, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
Return of High and Low placement.
[edit]People are complaining that wiki should’ve added back the high and low placement , all this debates come from the YouTube fandom itself and also across various media. This is really unfair for those people who love the high and low placement but just because “someone” as in the minority complained the format. You have to changed everything , how about the majority side? 210.187.213.209 (talk) 15:41, 8 May 2023 (UTC)
