The Five Doctors
[edit]I think the reason this was left out of the template was because it never occurred to anyone (including me) that The Five Doctors could be classified as a "Cyberman" story; after all, they're not the "main" villain. Although of course, I agree, they have the biggest adversarial role in it aside from Borusa (and even the Master), thanks to (in the words of Terrance Dicks), "bloody Saward", who liked the Cybermen a lot and insisted on their bigger role. --khaosworks 01:14, July 30, 2005 (UTC)
- Would you rather remove it from the list again? I mean, certainly we wouldn't include every story in which the Cybermen made an appearance, or we'd be including 2005's "Dalek" in the list, but I'd wager their screen time in "The Five Doctors" is on a par with their screen time in "Silver Nemesis" (in which they shared villain status with Lady Peinforte and the Nazi group, just as they shared it with Borusa and the Master in "T5D"). But I could probably be convinced otherwise -- like the Doctor, I've occasionally been known to miss an obvious Ferris Wheel. ;-) --Jay (Histrion) 00:39, 7 August 2005 (UTC)
- Well, I don't entirely disagree with their inclusion in the template, just to point out that they weren't the "featured" villain, screen time notwithstanding. To include them means we might as well include The Five Doctors in the Master stories template. In fact, I'll do just that. --khaosworks 01:18, August 7, 2005 (UTC)
I think that it's necessary to add "The Five Doctors" to the First, Second and Third Doctors because they all met cybermen in this story for short but approximately equal as Fifth Doctor's time. Костякин Филипп (talk) 20:29, 22 July 2016 (UTC)Костякин Филипп
- That's not the point of the template. The purpose is to provide links to related articles. One link in the template is enough. And please don't re-add until you can gain a new consensus (as per WP:BRD) because the old consensus is to not overlink. DonQuixote (talk) 20:36, 22 July 2016 (UTC)
Title
[edit]The title of Template:Dalek stories is singular, while this template is in plural. Any reason? --Jawr256 17:42, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Because "Daleks stories" sounds stupid. 82.32.48.236
The Sound of Drums
[edit]"The Sound of Drums" hangs off the side of the template by two words. It looks messy and inconsistent. I formatted it so that it would start on the next line, something that looked far better. But someone has changed it back. Is there a reason for this?
On the same note, does The Sound of Drums really count seeing as they aren't actually witnessed in the flashback and it's just a flashback to an episode that featured them? Clockwork Apricot (talk) 21:24, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
- Worked out the first problem myself; it's because some people will have different zoom levels. Clockwork Apricot (talk) 21:28, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
- In regard to the flashback, most of the minor appearances are exactly that, stock footage flashkacks of previous appearances. Dimensions in Time is the only one that isn't. 86.154.185.86 (talk) 16:38, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
- I'd say it's not enough. I can barely recall the flashback in question, now, and the Cybermen don't make it onto the episode's article. I've nixed it. Radagast (talk) 13:04, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
A Good Man Goes to War
[edit]Should it really be listed as a "minor appearance"? It's obviously not a Cyberman story, but it does feature original material, and it also shows us for the first time in NuWho the Cyber-Fleet. To put it in the same category as "Dalek" and "Human Nature" seems a little misleading.--Codenamecuckoo (talk) 19:26, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
Dimensions in Time
[edit]Is there any reason why Dimensions in Time isn't included on here as a minor appearance? Andrei Iosifovich (talk) 03:34, 18 October 2015 (UTC)
Requested move 9 November 2021
[edit]
The request to rename this article to Template:Cyberman stories has been carried out. |
Template:Cybermen stories → Template:Cyberman stories – As named on the template, and in line with Cyberman primary article. U-Mos (talk) 23:35, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
- Why not just boldly move the template? I see no issues with this. -- /Alex/21 00:38, 10 November 2021 (UTC)
