- Template {{Redirect category shell}} may be used to add one or more rcat templates, along with their parameters and categories, to a redirect. For more information, see the documentation page below.
When used by itself:
- From a US military aircraft designator: This is a redirect from a title that is a US military aircraft designator to an article about the corresponding aircraft or missile.
This template should not be substituted nor used to tag soft redirects. |
Purpose
This template is intended for redirects like F-15, F-16, F-16C etc, i.e. pure US military aircraft designators that redirect to articles about the corresponding aircraft. If the title contains some other text beside the designator (e.g. F-15 Eagle, F-16 Fighting Falcon), then other rcats should be used instead, such as {{R from short name}}.
Usage
- This redirect category (rcat) template populates both Category:Redirects from US military aircraft designators and Category:Unprintworthy redirects by default. In 2003, efforts were begun to support the Wikimedia Foundation's goal of increasing access and availability of Wikipedia articles in printed versions. Since this encyclopedia is not a directory, redirects from US military aircraft designators are not suitable for a printed version. In other words they are unprintworthy.
Please do not alter the printworthy settings of this rcat without first notifying the Version 1.0 Editorial Team, who are responsible for any and all materials, including redirects, that go into a printed version of Wikipedia. |
- Add this rcat to a redirect page (not a talk-page redirect) in the following manner:
#REDIRECT [[(target article title)]]
{{Rcat shell|
{{R from US military aircraft designator}}
{{R unprintworthy}}
}}
- Template {{Rcat shell}} is an alias for the Redirect category shell template, which may be used to add as many appropriate rcats as needed, usually from one to seven, along with their parameters, to a redirect. For more information see the documentation on its template page. This rcat may also tag a redirect individually:
#REDIRECT [[(target article title)]]
{{R from US military aircraft designator}}
- This is in accord with instructions found at Wikipedia:REDCAT.
- See this template's talk page for more useful information.
