- 1,178 prose bytes, which is below 1,500-bytes minimum. Awaiting further expansion. --George Ho (talk) 19:48, 22 September 2013 (UTC)
- I filled in some more information, and added another section, and expanded on some of the information that was already present. I still intend on improving it some more, but I think it may be long enough now. There are still a couple of days, though, if there's anything more I need to do if this is eventually selected. Thanks! DarkToonLinkHeyaah! 06:07, 23 September 2013 (UTC)
Prose size is over 2,200 bytes, which passes minimum. No deadline on further expansion; take your time. --George Ho (talk) 06:23, 23 September 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for your review. Do you think the suggested hook is fine, or should it be something that could be seen as more interesting?
- No opinion, though adding more ALTs would be nice. --George Ho (talk) 06:31, 23 September 2013 (UTC)
- I added some more hook ideas. DarkToonLinkHeyaah! 08:20, 23 September 2013 (UTC)
- So I don't think there are any policy issues with the page. The first hook is like a basic bit of info from the page, but the others try to focus on other specific bits, so I'm not really sure which is the best. There's only really a day left for this to be approved, though. DarkToonLinkHeyaah! 00:39, 25 September 2013 (UTC)

Article is new enough, long enough, well sourced, no other issues that I can see. However, I don't think any of the proposed hooks are adequate: the original hook reads like a press release, and isn't very interesting; ALT1 contains a statement not made in the article (that this game is the first to offer online competition); and ALT2 doesn't really make sense at first glance – I'm not sure that "rent" is the right word to use in this context. ALT3 has potential, but it's not very well worded. I'm going to propose another hook that combines elements of ALT3 and the original:
- ALT4: ... that the upcoming video game Wii Sports Club, featuring HD remakes of Wii Sports minigames, will allow players to represent their region in online contests?
We'll need someone else to review this hook. All other DYK criteria are met. DoctorKubla (talk) 19:24, 21 October 2013 (UTC)
- I have no problems with ALT 4. This is my first DYK so I might not be the best at summarising interesting bits of info... The reason I said the 'best-selling' bit in the first place was because I wanted to establish real-world notability for this, since basically everyone has heard of Wii Sports. Thanks, DarkToonLink 20:46, 21 October 2013 (UTC)
- Sorry guys, the ALT4 hook is ok for length and format, and the statement is in the article and cited, but on checking the source it reads like this:- "Users who register to state or regional clubs in Wii Sports Club will be able to chat with other one another through the Miiverse throughout matches." So it does not state that users represent "their region" or even that a user's region is in the database, and the source (and article for that matter) implies that a user can choose any club on the database (not necessarily their regional club). If an alt5 is proposed with something like "their chosen club" or "a selected region", then we can go with it. Btw, welcome to DYK, Darktoonlink! - You are able to chose any club, however I don't think ALT4 actually says you can't. It's true that players will be able to represent their region in online contests. The Forbes source seemed to be the most fleshed out in term of explaining the online features, club rankings, and communication, so that one might offer clarification. But yes, it doesn't lock you into your chosen region's club by IP or anything, so you technically could play for any, however I don't think the proposed hook actually suggests otherwise. Thanks! - The Forbes one is a clearer reference than the Polygon one. However in reviewing the ALT4 hook per DYK rules, the citation for the hook must immediately follow the hook, so that is the one which I checked, as the rest of the article has been reviewed by DoctorKubla. This can be easily fixed by adding the Forbes refname immediately after the Polygon ref (so it appears superscripted as (10)(11) ), then the hook fact is verified per source. Once this is done ALT4 will meet requirements. Baldy Bill (sharpen the razor|see my reflection) 21:58, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
- Done. DoctorKubla (talk) 05:48, 23 October 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for doing that. It was the middle of the day for me, so I didn't get back to my computer until now! Anyway, thanks everyone for all of your input and support in reviewing this nomination. If I nominate something again in the future, I'll make sure I learn from this! DarkToonLink 07:26, 23 October 2013 (UTC)
- It's a good nomination Darktoonlink. It's normal for a little bit of polishing to be needed, DYK is meant to represent the best of Wikipedia's new content, that's why we peer review.
- ALT4 reviewed and approved. Remainder of approval per review by DoctorKubla above. Good to go! Baldy Bill (sharpen the razor|see my reflection) 18:03, 23 October 2013 (UTC)
- Thank-you very much!
Is there time for one small change though? Most of the sources call them 'games' rather than 'minigames' (since they're a bit more fleshed out) so should the wording reflect that. Not a big deal, but maybe worth noting anyway. Thanks again! DarkToonLink 20:33, 23 October 2013 (UTC)
