Washington State Route 546

[edit]

5x expanded by SounderBruce (talk). Self-nominated at 07:35, 14 September 2018 (UTC).

  • The article was expanded 5x on Sept 14, prose is plenty long enough, and the article is within policy. The hook is under 200 characters and is interesting to a broad audience. SounderBruce, just let me know when the QPQ is done. « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 15:03, 23 September 2018 (UTC)

@SounderBruce: Honestly I don't really see how this hook is interesting: is it considered unusual for a discontinued highway route to be restored later on? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 12:18, 15 October 2018 (UTC)

Narutolovehinata5, it's an 8 mile long highway, I don't know how much more interesting it can get. Do you have an alt you want to propose? If not, as the reviewer, I believe that the hook meets the guidelines and the green check mark should be restored. « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 15:28, 15 October 2018 (UTC)
@Gonzo fan2007 and SounderBruce: Perhaps some discussion as to why it was first deleted and then why it was later restored could make for a better hook? Without context it just doesn't seem that interesting in my opinion. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 00:08, 16 October 2018 (UTC)
The "why" isn't all that interesting (basically being a component of a relocated route, then given its own branch designation later). I won't be able to write up a new hook for a day or two, as I'm in the middle of traveling. SounderBruce 12:06, 16 October 2018 (UTC)
  • This ALT isn't interesting at all, given that it's a simple description that can be applied to any road. If we're going this route, then something like this would have some amount of interest.
  • I still greatly prefer the ALT0, which is something that makes this highway unique. SounderBruce 03:00, 26 October 2018 (UTC)
  • As already noted - it has no context. Szzuk (talk) 07:22, 26 October 2018 (UTC)
ALT3 looks fine to me; ALT2 as well although less so. @Gonzo fan2007: thoughts? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 13:53, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
Alt0, Alt2, Alt3, and then Alt1 in that order. Alt1 is a simple descriptor and Alt3 is pretty common traffic management. I still like Alt0, but Alt2 would be fine with me as well. « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 14:01, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
If we're going down the roundabout route, then the number (for such a short American highway) is probably more interesting than the alternating traffic. ALT1 is wholly unsuitable and ALT3 is boring. SounderBruce 21:35, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
  • Based on the discussion above, it appears that ALT2 can work as a compromise hook, as both the nominator and the reviwers are fine with it. ALT2 is approved. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 01:01, 29 October 2018 (UTC)
