Schools Action Union
- ... that the Schools Action Union organised two strikes by schoolchildren in London in 1972? "On May 9, more than 1,000 children walked out in a "strike" at London schools ... On May 17, the two pupils helped organise an even larger "pupil power" march when more than 1,000 truants walked from Trafalgar Square to County Hall to protest against school uniforms and caning."
