Scaramouche (Milhaud)
... that clarinetist Benny Goodman (pictured) was said to enjoy Darius Milhaud's Scaramouche more than his Concerto for Clarinet, which was specifically written for Goodman?Source: James, Matthew (8 August 1997). "A Most Savory Cocktail: Milhaud's Scaramouche as an Assemblage of Compositional Techniques".- ALT1:
... that a 1943 performance of Darius Milhaud's Scaramouche used anagrams to disguise the suite and its composer?Source: [1] - Reviewed: Template:Did you know nominations/Omeima Mudawi-Rowlings
- Comment: Picture only for ALT0. Will do QPQ later. QPQ now done as of 20:25, 3 March 2023 (UTC)
- ALT1:
Created by Schminnte (talk). Self-nominated at 19:26, 3 March 2023 (UTC). Post-promotion hook changes for this nom will be logged at Template talk:Did you know nominations/Scaramouche (Milhaud); consider watching this nomination, if it is successful, until the hook appears on the Main Page.
- Isn't the original hook saying more about Goodman than the piece? There's no way this image would be used for the Main page as too distant from the topic. - I will review if nobody beats me to it. Too many images, sandwiching the text, that's what I see at a glance ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:08, 4 March 2023 (UTC)
- @Gerda Arendt: nice to hear from you again! If the second hook is suitable to be used, I prefer it anyway. If you could review the hook/have a look at the article I would be appreciative; I would like to keep at least some of the images but it probably requires some rearranging.Schminnte (talk • contribs) 10:05, 4 March 2023 (UTC)
- Understood. Please link suite in ALT1. I'll look now. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:00, 4 March 2023 (UTC)
- How is the following: I first comment in the peer review, you make changes or not, and then I approve here? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:38, 4 March 2023 (UTC)
- @Gerda Arendt: Im fine with that as long as you complete the peer review; I would be hesitant to just use the PR as a way to propose changes (which could be done here) if a full review would not be done. PS. I have wikilinked suite. Schminnte (talk• contribs) 12:03, 4 March 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you, and yes, promised here. - Please find a way to add something like "to avoid Nazi censorship" to ALT1, mostly because Nazi gives you 1000 extra clicks, but also to explain ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:07, 4 March 2023 (UTC)
- @Gerda Arendt: I would love some extra clicks. :) Please see the edited hooks below. PS. I will not be able to properly respond to the PR until later tonight. Best, Schminnte (talk • contribs) 13:08, 4 March 2023 (UTC)

- Thank you, and I like ALT1b especially. No rush, and I'll watch. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:22, 4 March 2023 (UTC)
- Interesting piece, detailed on good sources, offline sources accepted AGF, no copyvio obvious. I prefer ALT1b, enough to strike the others. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:10, 4 March 2023 (UTC)
