Sandra Perron
... that Sandra Perron, whom other Canadian Armed Forces officers saw as a threat, was once interrogated and left in the snow for two hours without boots as part of a mock execution?Source: "Woman officer never accepted: Officers pestered Sandra Perron, report says". Kingston Whig - Standard. 18 January 1997. p.3. "She was so good, her fellow officers saw her as a threat" "No place for a lady (Sandra Perron case)". Alberta Report. 24 (6): 8–9. Jan 20, 1997. "tied up after capture during a training exercise at CFB Gagetown, beaten and left bootless in the snow for two hours."- ALT1:

- New enough, long enough, neutrally written, well referenced, no close paraphrasing seen in online sources. The first hook is really powerful; the second is a little repetitive and also over 200 characters, so I struck it. Since the source about it being a "mock execution" is offline and you only provided one of the offline sources here, I'd like to confirm that the "mock execution" part is elsewhere in the Alberta Report. QPQ done. Yoninah (talk) 19:14, 4 July 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Yoninah, and thanks for reviewing this! Just a note that I’ve seen this and intend to respond as soon as I can. I’m away from my sources and computer this weekend, so I won’t be able to provide the quote until Sunday night or Monday morning. Best wishes, Eddie891 Talk Work 19:25, 4 July 2020 (UTC)
- Yoninah, here's what Lawton, Valerie. "Military Fails Women: Report ; Forces Plagued by Intolerance and Poor Efforts at Integration." Toronto Star says:
During a 1992 training exercise, Perron was blindfolded, tied to a tree and subjected to a mock execution during which a shot was fired. The incident captured in a disturbing photograph of a bound, limp Perron became a major embarrassment for the military,
so I sort of think the mock execution happened after? The 'Ottowa Citizen' wrote thatOn April 29, 1992 [Sandra] Perron was taken "prisoner" during an military exercise. She was detained and interrogated considerably longer than other prisoners. She was also subjected to a "mock execution."
Perhaps the alt (and accompanying sentence) could be better expressed as "as part of a training exercise"? Let me know what you think. Best wishes, Eddie891 Talk Work 00:33, 6 July 2020 (UTC)
Yoninah I propose something along the lines of:
- ALT2 ... that Sandra Perron, whom other Canadian Armed Forces officers viewed as a threat, was once interrogated and left in the snow for two hours without boots as part of a training exercise?
I've gone ahead an adjusted the wording. Best, Eddie891 Talk Work 13:28, 8 July 2020 (UTC)
