Samathuvapuram
[edit]- ... that Samathuvapuram was started to reduce discrimination by the caste system in Tamil Nadu? Outlook

- The article is new enough (created on the same day as the nomination), long enough and within policy. The hook is long enough, accurate, neutral and interesting. QPQ is complete and you have not used an image. I am more than happy to pass this nomination. Soaper1234 - talk 06:41, 9 April 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, I came by to promote this, but am again surprised that the reviewer didn't notice that the article didn't subscribe to basic English grammar. Gfosnkar, I suggest you submit your articles to WP:GOCE for cleanup before submitting them to DYK. I did some copyediting, but couldn't figure out this sentence at all: A caste violence occurred between backward caste Thevars and Dalit Devendrakula Vellalars in 1997 in southern districts of Indian state of Tamil Nadu after the Government of Tamil Nadu's decision to change the name of a transport corporation in Virudhunagar district as Sundaralingam Transport Corporation which named after 18th century general Veeran Sundaralingam. I also added a "date needed" tag. Yoninah (talk) 23:04, 12 April 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you for pointing this out Yoninah. I should have picked up on this - sorry Gfosankar. Soaper1234 - talk 08:03, 13 April 2018 (UTC)
- @Gfosankar: thank you. Please see how I edited it more to conform with English grammar. Everything else looks ready, except this article is an orphan. Please link it in at least one other Wikipedia page. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 17:47, 14 April 2018 (UTC)
- @Gfosankar: Thank you, but why did you add it as the name of a village to the article about the village of Elambalur? Isn't Samathuvapuram a "social equity scheme"? I would think you would add it as a "see also" to Tamil Nadu, or to Caste system in India. Yoninah (talk) 21:15, 14 April 2018 (UTC)
