Regolith-hosted rare earth element deposits
[edit]- ... that regolith-hosted rare earth element deposits are mostly low grade, but
because they are cheap to extract, they areeconomical to mine? Source: https://www.smedg.org.au/Hellman%20and%20Duncan%20REE%20Paper_2017.pdf

- This article was new enough when submitted and is long enough. The image is appropriately licensed, the hook facts are cited inline, the article is neutral and I detected no copyright/close paraphrasing issues. I have added some context to the article and made some improvements to the formatting of the references. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 06:53, 26 December 2018 (UTC)
- Hi I've come across this to promote but I find that the hook is not interesting enough. Is there anything else hookier? @Kevnmh: @Graeme Bartlett:? VincentLUFan (talk) (Kenton!) 07:21, 26 December 2018 (UTC)
- I thought that was interesting enough - poor quality but worthwhile. Anyway an alternative: Graeme Bartlett (talk) 23:42, 26 December 2018 (UTC)
- alt1 that rare earth elements are concentrated in a zone between the completely weathered and strongly weathered layers of granite?
- alt2 that regolith-hosted rare earth elements are hosted in bastnäsite, monazite and xenotime?
- (alt0 that regolith-hosted rare earth element deposits are mostly low grade, but economical to mine?) modified original hook ala Vincent60030
- @Graeme Bartlett: Now that I thought of it, maybe I can shorten the original hook to make it have a dangling effect. I'll see if this can replace Raymond Arritt's hook since problems are being discussed at WT:DYK otherwise I'll promote to a later date.
- Also, restoring tick per Cwmhiraeth. VincentLUFan (talk) (Kenton!) 06:54, 27 December 2018 (UTC)
