New Malden High Street

[edit]

Created by Launchballer (talk). Self nominated at 00:17, 31 December 2013 (UTC).

  • In the reference for the Waitrose statement I can't see where it mentions that it is the 131st store. Pi (Talk to me! ) 19:20, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
Did you check the page URL?--Launchballer 19:37, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
Yes, but that doesn't make it clear to me that it's the 131st shop. That seems to just be a page number on their website, I'm not inclined to read significance into that alone Pi (Talk to me! ) 19:53, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
Is this better?--Launchballer 20:30, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
I still don't understand what it means to be honest. Yes, Waitrose have assigned it a number, but does that mean it was the 131st shop to open or what? I think that perhaps it's too ambiguous to be a DYK hook Pi (Talk to me! ) 20:51, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
Supermarkets alway assign numbers to stores in order of opening. That is standard industry practice. But if you insist:
I think that's more reasonable, but I think the bus reference should also have an inline citation. I'd appreciate someone more experienced than me checking this over too Pi (Talk to me! ) 23:36, 3 January 2014 (UTC)

That's you, surely?--Launchballer 22:09, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
  • 'ALT1' needs rewording. Currently it sounds like the 131 bus runs through the Waitrose store in NM High Street. ;-) -- Ohc ¡digame! 02:18, 31 January 2014 (UTC)
  • I don't find the use of 131 with reference to the Waitrose store convincing. Why don't you take a completely different tack? Cwmhiraeth (talk) 07:36, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
  • The ALT3 hook is interesting and well-supported by the BBC source. It could perhaps be improved (the area contains the most Koreans in Europe!) but it's good enough for promotion now. Andrew (talk) 12:39, 8 February 2014 (UTC)
A QPQ review is required before this can be promoted. SagaciousPhil - Chat 12:51, 8 February 2014 (UTC)
QPQ done.--Launchballer 16:20, 9 February 2014 (UTC)
Re-instating Andrew's tick as QPQ has now been undertaken. I've also struck ALT2 for clarity. SagaciousPhil - Chat 16:31, 9 February 2014 (UTC)
