ALT0: ... that New England White, the second fiction novel by Stephen L. Carter (pictured), tells the story of a university president who may be covering up a murder to protect the U.S. president?ALT1: ... that in the fiction novel New England White, author Stephen L. Carter (pictured) writes about the murders of a black professor and a black schoolgirl set in a town described as "the heart of whiteness"?
- Personally I think new ALT0 is better. epicgenius (talk) 15:32, 23 April 2018 (UTC)

@Epicgenius: - how about:
- ALT0: ... that New England White, the second novel by Stephen L. Carter (pictured), tells the story of a university president who may be covering up a murder to protect the U.S. president?
We don't need to specify it's a fiction novel. All novels are fiction. Your alt1 is not an improvement, it's too wordy. How about:
- ALT1: ... that in New England White, Stephen L. Carter (pictured) writes about the murders of a black professor and a black schoolgirl set in a town described as "the heart of whiteness"?

- @Fish and karate: Point noted. Your second proposed hooks are fine, but what I was getting at is that the message conveyed in ALT0 is better than the message in ALT1. Your second ALT0 is good to go, unless you object. I have stricken the other hooks for clarity. epicgenius (talk) 14:18, 24 April 2018 (UTC)
- @Epicgenius: Happy with the revised ALT0, thank you for taking the time to review the nomination, it's much appreciated. Cheers, Fish+Karate 14:53, 24 April 2018 (UTC)
- Note to promoter: The image already appeared on the main page in February 2018 with the hook for The Emperor of Ocean Park. Yoninah (talk) 20:34, 2 May 2018 (UTC)
