In my opinion, there is no plagiarism in the article which is worth paraphrasing or putting in quotation marks, but because some of the phrases found by Earwig are a bit long, I shall put the link here in case someone else wants to double-check.
The citation given for the hook is offline but for the summary. The summary appears to support ALT0, but the bit supporting ALT1 must be in the offline section. So the hook citations are accepted in good faith.

@Sojourner in the earth: and @Onegreatjoke: and @BluePenguin18: I agree that Mycobacterium should be in italics in the hook, because it is in italics in the article, and I have corrected that (thank you for alerting us about that). However, I have had to unstrike ALT1, at least for now, because Onegreatjoke has only had two days to respond to the question about it, and we have to remember that we are not all confined to barracks and chained to our computers all day, every day. Some people have to earn a living. Normally on DYK, we allow nominators and creators at least a week to reply, before assuming that they have resigned responsibility for the nomination. Besides, I do not agree that we cannot accept an offline citation in good faith. We are already accepting offline material, especially printed books and journals in good faith, and this citation is in that bracket. This is my first ping about the article being nominated for a DYK, so thanks to Onegreatjoke for the submission and Storye book for the kind comments! I would suggest rephrasing the submission to "... that Mycobacterium bacterial species constantly remodel their cell wall layers to survive in stressful environments and avoid their host's immune defenses?" This provides a short description and clearly sets the subject as the plural species of this genus. Personally, I like the ALT1 phrasing, which I sourced from this 1999 EPA report (https://www.epa.gov/sites/default/files/2015-10/documents/mycobacteria-report.pdf), but either works with me!
