Marco Antonio García Ayala
[edit]- ... that since 2003, Marco Antonio García Ayala has alternated three-year terms between the federal Chamber of Deputies and the Legislative Assembly of the Federal District?
- ALT1:
... that Marco Antonio García Ayala was described as a "ghost deputy", as his ALDF office reported no expenses in 2014? - Reviewed: Prison Fatal (2000)
- ALT1:
5x expanded by Raymie (talk). Self-nominated at 05:28, 27 July 2016 (UTC).
- ALT2:
... that Mexican politician Marco Antonio García Ayala has been described as a "ghost deputy"? - This article is new enough and long enough. The facts of each hook are supported by inline citations and the article is neutral. The Spanish language sources make it difficult for me to consider copyright issues. I have also proposed ALT2 which is merely an abbreviated version of ALT1. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:44, 22 August 2016 (UTC)
- ALT2:
As has been noted on WT:DYK, the hook may violate the DYK rules for being based on a questionable source and for unduly focusing on a negative claim on a living person. I've thus removed the hook from the queue and am reopening this nomination. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 07:35, 29 August 2016 (UTC)
- Yeah, that wound up being too negative, especially when it was shortened. Let's find another: Raymie (t • c) 18:02, 29 August 2016 (UTC)
- ALT3:
... that Marco Antonio García Ayala went from the Legislative Assembly of the Federal District to representing Baja California in the Chamber of Deputies?
- I think ALT3 is factually correct if unexciting, so this is good to go. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:41, 6 September 2016 (UTC)
- Very sorry, Cwmhiraeth and Raymie, but per Wikipedia_talk:Did_you_know#Mexican_politicians and the DYK rules, this hook fails the "interesting" test. Edwardx (talk) 23:15, 6 September 2016 (UTC)
- @Edwardx: Thank you Edwardx. We had a more interesting hook but is was judged to be unduly negative for a BLP. Please suggest a more interesting hook because if you cannot find one, you should replace my tick. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:02, 7 September 2016 (UTC)
- Note: I just struck both "ghost deputy" hooks because that phrase was what ended up causing the original promotion to be pulled. However, I have to disagree with Cwmhiraeth: if there are no interesting hooks to be had for this nomination, then I don't see how it can pass per DYK rules. There might be something with the "doesn't even belong to this state" quote, since (if I'm reading this right) it's the party that decided. BlueMoonset (talk) 06:24, 7 September 2016 (UTC)
- That's correct. The party decides its nominations for "plurinominal" (proportional representation) deputies. Raymie (t • c) 15:01, 7 September 2016 (UTC)
- ALT4: ... that one local newspaper criticized the PRI's nomination of Marco Antonio García Ayala to represent Baja California, saying that he "doesn't even belong to this state"?
- ALT4 seems OK to me. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 18:20, 7 September 2016 (UTC)
- A friendly reminder, Raymie and Cwmhiraeth: there has to be a space between the three dots and "that". I've added it for ALT4, but please make sure the space is there in future hooks. Many thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 20:09, 7 September 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you. I always check this at the prep stage, and whether there is a "?" at the end of the hook. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 04:51, 8 September 2016 (UTC)
