Maltese Labour Corps
[edit]- ... that during the First World War the British Army recruited Maltese waiters to serve its Salonika Army? "Enrolment consisted of 119 men made up of 14 cooks, 42 waiters, 63 servants ... These left Malta on 18 February 1918 and arrived in Salonika on 23 February 1918."
