Interesting life and work, on good sources, no copyvio obvious. Hook: the fact is great, but the clue comes too late. Something like a chronological order of being told no, writing, award. This award, should it be award or Award? Consistency please ;) Also, any link to tell some ignorant like me why it's important? - I think that in article and hook, you better introduce her as Native American, or people might think of India. Article: I am no friend of one-sentence paragraphs, nor of ref numbers not sorted. - Hey, Gerda! Thanks for starting review. This is one of those fact-stuffed hooks that are difficult to compose. I've removed from the first two ALTs below the fact it was the first NA cookbook ever to win the award, see if that helps. The third is chrono. I've removed the refs from the lead; it was all already covered in the body. Re: infoboxes, I can take or leave them. I usually leave if I don't have an image, which so far I don't. I've sent her an email, and as she's also a professional photographer I'm hoping she'll give us one. Re: introing her as NA, I've added Kiowa to hook, was already in article.
