Loch Vaa
- ... that Loch Vaa (pictured) recently fell to its lowest water level in 750 years? "The water level of a Highlands loch likely dropped to its lowest in at least 750 years in May this year, according to archaeologists." (BBC News)
- ALT1:... that low water levels at Loch Vaa (pictured) threatened the remains of a historic crannog? "There were concerns that timbers which had been used in the construction of the crannog, and preserved for centuries in the loch, would be exposed to damage by the dramatic fall in water level." (BBC News)
- ALT2:
... that Loch Vaa (pictured) contains a crannog?"Archaeologists were asked to check for any impact on a crannog, an ancient fortified settlement, in the loch." (BBC News)

- Interesting lake, on good sources, no copyvio obvious. The image is licensed and shows fine, but is not too specific about this loch, also - 2011 - not about the "recent" situation. - I approved the original hook, thinking that crannog is a bit to unknown a word to attract, but it could be just me. I'd be more appealed by "nystery of the disappearing loch", - open to alternatives. Define "recent", perhaps clearly say May 2019 than argue about it later. Alternatives only below, please, and we could also just leave it as is. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:44, 23 October 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Gerda Arendt, thanks for the review. I quite liked the crannog hooks just because the name is so unusual (ALT2 brings to my mind Nessie-style monsters). I think the "mysterious disappearance" of water is a bit of sensational headlining by the BBC, SEPA seem happy it is just down to low rainfall. Happy to consider any alternative hook suggestions - Dumelow (talk) 09:29, 23 October 2019 (UTC)
- ... in which case I also approve ALT1. You will know that crannog may receive more "hits" than the loch, as Clara Schumann received 2.5 times as many as her piano concerto. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:33, 23 October 2019 (UTC)
