Keshavlal Dhruv
[edit]... that Keshavlal Dhruv was the first professor of Gujarati language and literature?
Created by Nizil Shah (talk). Self nominated at 15:22, 3 October 2014 (UTC).
- Note: October 17 is his 155th birthday.
- The hooked claim is not clear. Was he the first person to be professor ever or first professor of these subjects in that particular collage.--Vigyanitalkਯੋਗਦਾਨ 05:42, 6 October 2014 (UTC)
- Nizil, it has been over a month since you nominated this, and you still haven't supplied a QPQ review. This is needed before I can call for a full review of the nomination. Please supply one soon. Many thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 23:14, 7 November 2014 (UTC)
- Full review needed now that QPQ has been supplied. BlueMoonset (talk) 15:49, 8 November 2014 (UTC)
- @Nizil Shah: I tried to review it. But I am still not happy with the hooked claim. Dadabhai Naoroji also was a professor of Gujrati (at University College London) and he taught much before as compared to current subject. I will suggest you to come with a new hook. --Vigyanitalkਯੋਗਦਾਨ 02:20, 10 November 2014 (UTC)
- New Hook (ALT1): ... that Keshavlal Dhruv compiled fifteenth century Apabhramsa and old Gujarati poems and published them in 1927?
- Article length and newness okay. Article is neutral, cited well with inline sources. Citation to Gujarti language source and the offline book taken on good faith. No close paraphrasing, copyright violations found. I have done some minor ce to ALT1. @Nizil Shah: In which language were those poems? --Vigyanitalkਯੋਗਦਾਨ 03:22, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
- In Apbhramsa and old Gujarati as it was titled Pandarma Shatakna Prachin Gurjar Kavyo (fifteenth century ancient Gurjar poems).
- ALT1: ... that Keshavlal Dhruv compiled fifteenth century Apabhramsa and old Gujarati poems and published them in 1927?
- ALT1 repeated above good to go. --Vigyanitalkਯੋਗਦਾਨ 10:06, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
- I have doubts as to whether the hook fact is supported by the given source. I believe this nomination may need a new review. G S Palmer (talk • contribs) 17:00, 13 November 2014 (UTC)
- Nizil, I can verify from Gujarati source that પંદરમા શતકનાં પ્રાચીન ગુર્જરકાવ્ય (Pandarma Shatakna Prachin Gurjar Kavyo) was published by him in 1927. But the source does not say it is અપભ્રંશ (Apabhramsa). My Gujarati is basic; so forgive me if I missed it. The English Sahitya Akademi says that Pandarma Shatakna Prachin Gurjar Kavyo is a collection of 15th century Gujarati poems.Redtigerxyz Talk 08:26, 24 November 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you,User:Redtigerxyz for reviewing much awaited DYK. 15th century Gujarati was nothing but Apbhramsa. I think I should change the hook to its past version verifiable by English ref and removed Apbhramsa too. Is it OK now? -Nizil (talk) 09:53, 24 November 2014 (UTC)
- ALT2: ... that Keshavlal Dhruv compiled fifteenth century Gujarati poems and published them in 1927?
- 2704KB, within policy, 3 oct creation. The article is good. Redtigerxyz Talk 10:12, 24 November 2014 (UTC)
