Judith (Matthus)
- ... that Siegfried Matthus composed the opera Judith for the reopening of the restored Semperoper but it premiered at the Komische Oper Berlin in 1985, staged by Harry Kupfer? Source: book
ALT1:... that the first production of the opera Judith by Siegfried Matthus at the Komische Oper Berlin, staged by Harry Kupfer, was recorded in a studio of the national television?Source: "You are strongly encouraged to quote the source text supporting each hook" (and [link] the source, or cite it briefly without using citation templates)
- Reviewed:
to come - Comment: I like to mention Kupfer, as he was the reason for all this: the composition, the other location and the recording.

- Overall: This looks OK, AGF on sources. An additional source or two, and a fact about Holofernes-Porträt as mentioend below, would be welcome but not essential. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 21:28, 27 October 2019 (UTC)
- Long Enough (1653 characters) , new enough (created 7 days before being nominated)
- article is within policy. No copyvio, no apparent close paraphrase, sufficient source citations. I am a bit concerned that so much is cited to the Breitkopf & Härtel source, as they are the publisher of a recording of the opera, and so not independent. I could wish that we had an independent source for at least some of what is now sourced here, but I think this is OK. Notability is established in my view, but there is only just barely enough independent sources (2) cited to establish it. Here again one or two additional independent sources would improve the article, but i will accept this as it stands.
- Hooks are short enough; supported by inline citations. The sources are offline and in German, I assume good faith that the sources support the hooks. In my view ALT0 is interesting enough, while ALt1 is a bit bland. That an opera, in the 1980s, was recorded for television at is premier performance is not particularly surprising or interesting, IMO.
- Image used in article is under a free license, but it is not part of the DYK nom in any case.
- Comment I could wish that he type of composition that Holofernes-Porträt is was stated, so that instead of reading
At the same time Matthus composed the opera Holofernes-Porträt for baritone and orchestra ...
it could readAt the same time Matthus composed Holofernes-Porträt for baritone and orchestra
(or "the symphony" or 'the tone poem" or what ever it was). I think nthjis would be an improvement, but it does not really affect this DYK nom. - QPK:
