Interstate 78 in New York
[edit]- ... that a 156-foot (48 m) tunnel for the Lower Manhattan Expressway was built in New York City in the 1960s, but was never used? Source: NY Times 1969
- ALT1:... that the entirety of the Interstate 78 in New York is located in the Holland Tunnel, once the world's longest underwater vehicular tunnel? Sources: NYSDOT for I-78 consisting entirely of the Holland Tunnel, and ASCE article about the tunnel for it being the world's longest underwater vehicular tunnel.

Improved to Good Article status by Epicgenius (talk) and Tdorante10 (talk). Nominated by Epicgenius (talk) at 00:35, 22 May 2018 (UTC).
- But second review and would like a second opinion.
- Article length and age are fine. Nominated within 7 days of GA approval. No copyvio or plagiarism concerns came up. Reliable sources are used. First Hook is neural, cited and interesting.
- I would like someone else to take a glance at this but it looks good to go! -- Sixflashphoto (talk) 20:06, 28 May 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, I came by to promote ALT0, but the hook fact about never being used is not stated explicitly in the article. Yoninah (talk) 23:40, 5 June 2018 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: The article stated the two parts of the hook in two different places. I have fixed that. epicgenius (talk) 01:32, 6 June 2018 (UTC)
- A priori nothing wrong with this article, except someone has stuck a big merge tag on it since it was promoted, and since that could mean that it could disappear while on the main page, I'm not comfortable putting it there while the discussion is ongoing. Due apologies. Vanamonde (talk) 04:53, 11 June 2018 (UTC)
- Putting a hold on this nomination while the merge discussion plays out. BlueMoonset (talk) 22:01, 11 June 2018 (UTC)
- This has been on hold for almost two months now, and so far it appears that the merge discussion has died down. Can something be done about this nomination already? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 12:36, 7 August 2018 (UTC)
- I have closed the merge discussion so this can move forward, but will leave it to another editor to give it a new tick if they see fit. Wugapodes [thɔk] [ˈkan.ˌʧɻɪbz] 03:58, 26 August 2018 (UTC)
- Pinging Yoninah to see whether their tick still holds after over two months. BlueMoonset (talk) 14:28, 26 August 2018 (UTC)
- Well, I'm a bit confused. The text in the body of the article says the extension was built but never used. But the lead says it and other extensions were never built. Pinging @Epicgenius:. Yoninah (talk) 16:16, 26 August 2018 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: The I-78 extension was not built except for the small 156-foot section, which was built (but never used). epicgenius (talk) 20:38, 26 August 2018 (UTC)
