Overall: Overall, the nominated article is in good condition with only minor concerns to address. Expanded more than fivefold from 932 to 9855 characters. Length is adequate. Sourcing is mostly good, except for one citation needed tag in the first paragraph of the "Re-election and opposition leader" section. The article is neutral in tone. No plagiarism issues were detected. Both hooks are interesting to a broad audience, properly mentioned and cited in the article, and verified by the sources. All images in the article are freely licensed on the Commons, although no image in used in the nomination. The QPQ requirement is complete. Citation templates need to be added to several of the sources used. Lastly, there is one "as of when" template, which could be resolved by stating "as of 2023". I look forward to seeing the nomination passed. Best wishes. Flibirigit (talk) 22:51, 16 September 2023 (UTC)
Response to comments Hi Flibirigit. I went looking for a source to respond to your "citation needed" tag, and came across an entire Ph.D. thesis! Found a lot more on Turner, so I've essentially rewritten the section on his political career. Please take a look to see (1) if I've responded to your initial comments, and (2) whether you have any comments on the expanded sections. I think the weakness of the article before was that I didn't tie Turner more closely to the Martin-Maharg split; the thesis gave me the info to do that, as well as info on how Turner came to stand as a Progressive in 1925. Sorry to give you more work. Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 02:15, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
- I will be busy today. Hope to get back to this by tomorrow or Wednesday at the latest. Flibirigit (talk) 16:26, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks, no probs. I appreciate that we're all volunteers on WP, and thank you for taking the time. Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 16:45, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
- I notice much work has been done since I last looked. Any chance of adding a photo for Turner? A public domain or fair use photo would be nice to have. Will continue to review tomorrow. Flibirigit (talk) 22:48, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
- I've only found one photo of him and I'm not sure of its status. It's in the Saskatoon councillors book (currently cite 2). I have no idea how to copy it, nor whether it qualifies as public domain? Presumably taken in 1929 or 1930. (Wikimedia Commons rules are a mystery to me.) Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 01:41, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
- That is also the only photo I found of him. It is likely copyright, but can be claimed as fair use. I can do it for you. Flibirigit (talk) 03:19, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
- Will resume rerviewing this tomorrow. Real life if hectic today. Flibirigit (talk) 21:44, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
- No probs. Thanks. Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 02:26, 20 September 2023 (UTC)
- I added a fair use photo with rationale, found his death date and location, added a citation for his death, and updated the infobox. I will carry on with the review tomorrow. Flibirigit (talk) 20:50, 20 September 2023 (UTC)
- I added a couple citation needed tags for areas where I am unsure of the source. Otherwise this nomination looks good. Flibirigit (talk) 21:05, 20 September 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks very much for doing the photo, and for finding the death date. I looked around but could not find it. I've added cites to the bios for Martin and Maharg, as well as links to Archives pages that have the dates for Marharg being Minster of Agriculture and then Leader of the Opposition, so I hope that responds to your "cite needed" tags. Also did some more copy-edits, and added link to the 1921 general election page, for the diversity in the candidate labels, the number of candidates, and the numbers elected. I think I've responded to everything. Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 19:34, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
- Article now meets sourcing requirements, and all other DYK criteria. Flibirigit (talk) 22:36, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
