HMS Sherwood (shore establishment)
- ... that HMS Sherwood is stranded more than 50 miles (80 km) from the coast? "Nottingham may seem like an unlikely setting for an outpost of the RNR, the city is over 50 miles from the coast" from: "HMS Sherwood - Nottingham". Royal Navy. Retrieved 25 May 2021.. Feel free to check, I measure 55 miles from Chetwynd Barracks to the nearest coast (The Wash) on Google Maps
- ALT1:... that a Nottingham City Transport bus has been named after HMS Sherwood? "one of the buses on the Nottingham City Transport network has been named HMS Sherwood to mark the event" from: Cooper, Ben (2 June 2018). "HMS Sherwood honoured with freedom of the city of Nottingham". NottinghamshireLive. Retrieved 25 May 2021.
- ALT2: ... that HMS Sherwood is located more than 50 miles (80 km) from the coast?

- Comment: ALT0 plays on the reader's assumption that it is a ship
Moved to mainspace by Dumelow (talk). Self-nominated at 12:30, 26 May 2021 (UTC).
In terms of the article content, it is new enough (created 25 May/nom 26 May), long enough (2775 chars) and within policy (no evident NPOV, RS, VER, CLOP or TONE issues). In terms of the creator, QPQ is met. In terms of the ALT0 hook, while it is short enough, interesting and somewhat supported by the refs, it seems to me that we are prioritising "hook-iness" over clarity and accuracy. I understand why we're suggesting it is, but the subject isn't "stranded". And the sources do not describe it as such. If ALT0 was to be promoted, I would suggest that it would need to be reworded to something like:
- "... that HMS Sherwood is located more than 50 miles (80 km) from the coast?
- If this change isn't considered worthwhile, then ALT1 is GTG as it is (short enough, interesting-ish, cited, etc). Guliolopez (talk) 19:54, 7 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Guliolopez, thanks for your review. Happy to go with your ALT, if it's preferred - Dumelow (talk) 05:44, 8 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Dumelow. Grand so. If you want to add an "ALT2" above with the proposed text (so it is clear to the promoter what is being proposed), then I'll update my comment to refer to that ALT2, and change my recommendation to 'full green'. Cheers. Guliolopez (talk) 09:40, 8 June 2021 (UTC)

- (Great) ALT2 is good-to-go in my view. Article meets all requirements (date/length/NPOV/CLOP/VER/etc), ALT2 hook is as expected (format/interest/accuracy/VER/etc), and other criteria are met (QPQ/etc). In my opinion, ALT2 is OK to promote to next step. Guliolopez (talk) 16:42, 9 June 2021 (UTC)
