[edit]- ... that Bovis Homes CEO Greg Fitzgerald started his career in construction as a tea boy? "Fitzgerald started off as the tea boy"
- ALT1:... that Bovis Homes CEO Greg Fitzgerald was reluctant to enter the housebuilding sector as he considered that it was for "pansies"? "At first, he was doubtful; he thought housebuilding was for “pansies” "
- ALT2:... that Bovis Homes CEO Greg Fitzgerald has been described as a "likeable, sweary leader"? "he’s an likeable, sweary leader"
- ALT3:... that Greg Fitzgerald sold two housebuilding companies to Galliford Try before becoming their CEO?"But by 1997, he’d sold the business to Galliford for £5 million and repeated the trick a couple of years later with another housebuilder, Gerald Wood Homes. Swiftly afterwards, Fitzgerald became head of Galliford’s housebuilding arm, and took the top job in 2005."

- Date, size, refs, neutrality, copyvio spotcheck, all good. I do however have some concerns about the subject's notability - some references used in the article are of low quality, essentially press releases or reprints of. There is an article about him in FT ([1]), through it essentially has 2-3 paragraphs of information, and then one more decent in-depth article in Standard ([2]). Hmmm. this is probably borderline but ok, but I will leave this review for now in 'maybe' - I would appreciate another DYK reviewer commenting here on the topic of notability. If they think this topic is notable enough, I am fine with this being green-ticked as GTG. If not, ping me and we can take it to AfD for a different type of a review... --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 11:22, 2 October 2018 (UTC)
- This article is new enough and long enough. I like ALT0 and ALT3 best and both have inline citations. The article is neutral and free from copyvios. It would be nice to have a hook stating that he rose from teaboy to CEO in the same company, but it is awkward here with the various takeovers that occurred along the way. I think he is notable, he certainly made a notable difference to Bovis, but I don't think notability is a requirement for DYK, with an article being assumed notable unless found non-notable at AfD. I personally appreciate this article on a businessman written by an independent editor, as compared to the many CoI articles written by employees about their bosses.
