[edit]... that the long-clawed mole mouse lives in forests, tussock grassland, marshes and wet meadows in the far south of South America?
- Reviewed: Dismaland
5x expanded by Cwmhiraeth (talk). Self-nominated at 09:30, 23 August 2015 (UTC).
- Seems to be less than 1500 characters prose? Also regarding the hook, is it accurate to say that "tussock grass" (in original source) is same as "tussocky grassland" (in article and hook)? Can't tussock grass exist also outside grasslands? Other than that, hook and sourcing seems ok, also no copyvio.--Staberinde (talk) 15:38, 23 August 2015 (UTC)
- Note: according to DYKcheck, the article has 1646 prose characters, and qualifies as a 5x expansion. BlueMoonset (talk) 23:45, 26 August 2015 (UTC)
- Oh sorry, for some reason I had memory that whitespaces don't count, it has been a while since I did DYKs. So yeah, character count is ok then, only question about grass stands.--Staberinde (talk) 14:24, 27 August 2015 (UTC)
- @Staberinde: I have changed "tussocky grassland" to "tussock grassland" in both hook and article and have wikilinked it in the article. Is that better? I need to use different wording from the source so as not to close paraphrase it, but that may result in subtle changes of meaning. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 07:39, 28 August 2015 (UTC)
- @Cwmhiraeth:, yes I am aware of close paraphrasing aspect. What caught my attention was in Tussock (grass) statement: "Tussock and bunch grasses occur in almost any habitat where other grasses are found, including: grasslands, savannas and prairies, wetlands and estuaries, riparian zones, shrublands and scrublands, woodlands and forests, montane and alpine zones, tundra and dunes, and deserts." In this context using only "grassland" may potentially be too limiting. As I personally don't really see any clear synonyms for the term "tussock grass" without risking a change in meaning, I believe that WP:LIMITED applies here. That said, I definitely don't claim to be an expert on this issue, so if you feel that this concern is unfounded then I am willing to trust your judgement.--Staberinde (talk) 15:45, 28 August 2015 (UTC)
- What the source actually says is "In Saxegothaea bamboo in Nothofagus forests, and in tussock grass, marshes and wet meadows." However, Saxegothaea and bamboo are not the same thing, and the tussock grass sounds like its meant to be a habitat. Maybe we should go for something else entirely like

- ALT1 ... that the long-clawed mole mouse leaves its burrow briefly to forage at night? Cwmhiraeth (talk) 08:55, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
- Yes, with that alternative hook it should be okay.--Staberinde (talk) 15:49, 31 August 2015 (UTC)
- Note: striking original, problematic hook. BlueMoonset (talk) 16:03, 31 August 2015 (UTC)
