- Hi K.e.coffman, review follows: article promoted to GA on 22 September (this has been nominated in the 29 September section of DYK, I will move it); article is of sufficient length; article is well written and cited inline throughout to reliable sources; sources are almost entirely offline but I am happy to AGF that there is no copyright violation from these; hook is interesting and cited to a reliable source, this source is offline but I am happy to assume it backs up the information; image works well at small scale and is freely and appropriately licensed. Just awaiting a QPQ on this and it will be be good to go. Drop me a ping when you have one and I'll give it a tick - Dumelow (talk) 20:40, 29 September 2019 (UTC)
- @Dumelow: I added a QPQ. K.e.coffman (talk) 21:10, 29 September 2019 (UTC)

- Hi, I came by to promote this, and added some more detail from the source about which American president decorated him. Where does it say in your article that Hitler decorated Halder? Yoninah (talk) 20:17, 7 October 2019 (UTC)
- Hi @Yoninah: the source provided (Smelser & Davies, pp. 72-73) states it directly that Hitler decorated Halder. For background, Hitler awarded Halder with the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on 27 October 1939. --K.e.coffman (talk) 00:47, 8 October 2019 (UTC)
- @K.e.coffman: yes, I saw the sentence in Smelser that Hitler decorated Halder. Could you add that Hitler was the one who gave him the Knight's Cross in the article? Yoninah (talk) 00:51, 8 October 2019 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: I'm not following; the article already states: Halder thus became the only German to be decorated by both Adolf Hitler and an American president. --K.e.coffman (talk) 00:54, 8 October 2019 (UTC)
- Right. But a reader who clicks on the article to read more about "decorated by both Adolf Hitler and an American president" would have learned nothing more about either award, or even who the American president was, the way you originally wrote the article. I added the fact that it was Kennedy who decorated him with the Meritorious Civilian Service Award. I would like you to add the fact that it was Hitler who decorated him with the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross (or maybe it was his representative?). Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 01:19, 8 October 2019 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: Added. --K.e.coffman (talk) 01:06, 10 October 2019 (UTC)
