Frans van der Lugt

[edit]
  • ... that Dutch Jesuit priest Frans van der Lugt, who had lived in Syria since 1966 and ministered to Christian and Muslims alike, was shot dead in April 2014 in Homs?

  • New enough, long enough, good citations. No copyvios or close paraphrasing found. Hook well cited. I've added "dead" after "shot". One minor point, it is still being classed as a stub, so that needs to be dealt with. And the QPQ, of course! Having spent a bit of time in Homs, this is an even sadder story. Edwardx (talk)
  • @Edwardx: the stub category is dealt with. I'll do the QPQ immediately (you can have faith after almost 300 DYKS). Did you know him? Homs can't be that big--and what a tragedy, that city. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 22:58, 8 April 2014 (UTC)
  • Thank you. I never doubted the QPQ and stub, but felt I had to say something. Homs is 650-750,000 people, and I was there 20 years ago for a couple of weeks. Edwardx (talk) 23:10, 8 April 2014 (UTC)
  • Thank you Edward. The QPQ is done. That's bigger than I thought, just to underscore the magnitude of this tragedy; the footage I've seen looks terrible. Those poor people, poor children. Thanks again. Drmies (talk) 23:43, 8 April 2014 (UTC)
