Erckartswiller
[edit]- ... that the Alsatian village of Erckartswiller was abandoned from 1649 to 1651?
- Reviewed: Template:Did you know nominations/Clallam County Courthouse
- Comment: Not the most intriguing hook, but there's not a lot to say about this very small town (population: 305), plus I think that being contrite could draw readers who may wonder why it was abandoned. The sources are in French, so I'll provide the reference quote for the hook: "Le village est dépeuplé par la guerre de Trente Ans et totalement déserté de 1649 à 1651." (translation: "The village was depopulated by the Thirty Years War and completely deserted from 1649 to 1651.") Note: The Thirty Years War actually ended in 1648. The hook is also similar to a hook for an adjacent community Wimmenau, which was a DYK in January (Template:Did you know nominations/Wimmenau).

- This five-fold expansion is new enough and long enough. The hook fact is interesting and is well-sourced, the article is neutral and the sources are in French so I have omitted to check for close paraphrasing. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 10:52, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
