- Comment: This is the second of two QPQs from that review.
Requesting that this be saved for the special occasion of Game 1 of the 2022 World Series, which would mean the 00:00 UTC slot on October 29. (I love the image, Cleveland showed up in 1921 wearing uniforms that say "World's Champions".)

- @Muboshgu: I hate to be the bringer of bad news, but I'm afraid that the special occasion request will have to be declined. Six weeks after September 10 (the date of the nomination) is October 22, which is one week before October 29. Special occasion requests normally can't be granted beyond six weeks from the nomination date. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 04:38, 13 September 2022 (UTC)
- I knew it had to be roughly six weeks, and I took that as an approximate. We're really gonna be a WP:BUREAUCRACY here?
Do not follow an overly strict interpretation of the letter of policies without consideration for their principles

- The article meets requirements and a QPQ has been provided. I also didn't find any close paraphrasing. The hook fact about him being the first to hit a Grand Slam in the World Series needs a footnote after the exact sentence (right now the reference for it is in the subsequent sentence). As for the special occasion request, while your comment is noted, I would have been more willing to approve the request if it was just outside by a day or two rather than a full week. As a compromise, I could perhaps suggest that the article instead go up on October 7, the start of the MLB playoffs, which is also within the six week period. - Respectfully, no, that doesn't work for me. There were no "playoffs" in 1920 aside from the one series, and I've had this DYK in mind for months. I delayed doing it until now to time it for the World Series. The spirit of the rule prevented me from doing it then because I understand that waiting months is too long.
- I've been around here long enough to see various DYKRULES bent and broken at will because Wikipedia is not a bureaucracy. Case in point, I nominated Me and the Spitter for DYK on July 15, and it was suggested to be held for September 15, his birthday. Why can that DYK be held for promotion almost nine weeks after it was nominated, but this one can't wait seven weeks? I didn't care about that special occasion date, but I do care about this one.
- I put a citation at the end of the hook fact sentence. I request other opinions on the special occasion date. Per
The timeline limitations, including the six week maximum, may be waived by consensus, if a request is made at WT:DYK

- The special occasion request was my only concern. Given that there's consensus to IAR accept it I have no more issues. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 11:19, 18 September 2022 (UTC)
