Ecem Güzel
- ... that the Turkish female sailor Ecem Güzel, whose mother took out a bank loan to cover the training expenses as she started sailing, managed to get a quota for the 2020 Summer Olympic Games? Source: "... you qualified Turkey for the 2020 Olympics ..." [1], "Evet kızı yelken sporuna gönül veren ve onun için kredi çeken anne benim " (in Turkish) [2]

- Article new and long enough, well cited and interesting. It needs a copyedit, because some of it doesn't make sense or is poor English. The hook, equally, has the issue that some of it doesn't make sense - specifically 'quota', which is definitely not right and yet is the main intrigue. Reading the article, this is clearly supposed to be 'sponsor'. Another issue with the hook is that it is covering two bases: that Güzel's mother had to get a loan for her to start sailing, and that Güzel both qualified for and got a sponsor for the 2020 Olympics. The Olympics is less interesting IMO, because it's basically just stating her occupation (and there's a bunch of them, what makes her stand out?). Equally, comparing once needing a loan to later getting sponsorship in elite sports isn't unusual either, that's how most athletes operate. Maybe say she first got interested in sailing on holiday as a child? I could offer more help with hooks if I could understand more of the article, though. Kingsif (talk) 19:00, 16 April 2020 (UTC)

- @Kingsif:@CeeGee: I've gone through the article a second time and changed a few more words. Since I know nothing about the subject, I can make no further improvements. As far as the GOCE is concerned the copy edit is completed. It's written in basic English for sure. Perhaps Kingsif can simply fix the particular phrase they find awkward?
