David Green (civil engineer)
[edit]- ... that David Green campaigned for new design standards following the collapse of a ferry walkway that killed six people? "HEALTH & SAFETY minister Angela Eagle is to be lobbied by former ICE president David Green next Monday in an effort to secure funding for a code on ship to shore walkway design." "the accident, in which six passengers died and seven were seriously injured"
- ALT1:... that David Green suggested that the Institution of Civil Engineers merge with some of the 40 other bodies representing professionals in the sector? "To this end he believes it is time for the institution to consider merger talks with other bodies. We will be taking soundings from among our fellow institutions about the possibility of combining or merging. The divergence and numbers of different institutions doesnt reflect whats going on in the industry. In an industry with 40 professional bodies, looking at the possibility of mergers would seem a smart move, especially in the light of the demise of the Federation of Civil Engineering Contractors."

- New, long enough, both hooks not long and sourced. original is definitely more interesting. QPQ done.
- I added one tag and also not sure if the redlink individual needs to be there.
- The references (which are complete) seem to all link to industry sources/journals and are not braoder so i'm not 100% sure if that's DYKable.Lihaas (talk) 19:09, 19 September 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Lihaas, thanks for your review. I have expanded the sentence you tagged with "which" to name the company. With regards the redlink Roger Norman Sainsbury is a former ICE president and is notable, he is on my list of articles to create. In terms of the referencing I am not sure there are any other sources I can bring in. The guy spent his career in civil engineering so naturally most of what is written about him comes from the industry journals. Let me know if there is anything else you need doing - Dumelow (talk) 19:37, 19 September 2018 (UTC)

- Made a couple of changes, but there is some extra characters with the double space before a new sentence. Still, AGF. Lihaas (talk) 12:14, 21 September 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks Lihaas. Don't worry about the double sentence spacing, it depends on where you were taught to type. The wiki software condenses any multiple spacings into a single space anyway - see MOS:PUNCTSPACE - Dumelow (talk) 12:51, 21 September 2018 (UTC)
