Brad Teague
[edit]- ... that Brad Teague (pictured) was fastest in third round qualifying for the 1989 Daytona 500, but did not compete in the event?

- Comment: Formerly an unsourced BLP; expanded 2x.

- Previously, there were citation and accuracy issues. Fortunately, I have remedied them by adding inline citations and removing dubious statements. All sources are reliable, and information is decent and well-written. Passes 2X expansion as previously unsourced BLP, and minimum requirements have reached. There might be some needs of clarification, but I guess this article is good enough to be in the Main Page. --George Ho (talk) 05:44, 24 August 2012 (UTC)
- I'm a bit dubious of the failure to compete being sourced by virtue of Teague being absent from the race results. Is there nothing more definitive? Also, the article says he "withdrew from the event prior to the Twin 125 qualifying races", which seems to be WP:SYNTH based on this absence. If there are other possible reasons, such as a disqualification rather than a simple withdrawal, or a glitched race report, then omission is the better part of valor. - No, there's no glitched race reports;
it's possible he was disqualified, soI'll change the article to say simply "did not compete", as both the fastest in third round qualifying and the failure to compete are verifiable by multiple sources (incuding the TV broadcast of the qualifying race, which is watchable online: [1]). - The Bushranger One ping only 04:12, 1 September 2012 (UTC) - As a note, I searched high and low to find out what happened between third round qualifying and the Twin 125s, and came up with bupkis: if Teague had been disqualified, he still would have competed in the Twin 125s, just starting from the rear of the field. The fact he didn't compete at all is only possible through withdrawl; however I have changed the wording in the article to hopefully avoid any concerns of WP:SYNTH. - The Bushranger One ping only 04:15, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
- No, there's no glitched race reports;
Youtube is used as an inline source. I wonder if it is reliable. At least the SYNTH thing is done and over with. --George Ho (talk) 04:24, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
- As it's a copy of the CBS Sports broadcast, yes, I believe it's acceptable. - The Bushranger One ping only 04:45, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
- Is it a legitimate upload? --George Ho (talk) 04:56, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
- No way of knowing; I suppose I'll remove it. - The Bushranger One ping only 05:08, 1 September 2012 (UTC)

I check the new non-Youtube source that was added, and it is reliable. Synthesis issues are resolved, Youtube is no longer used as an inline source, and everyone is happy. --George Ho (talk) 05:22, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
