Azio Corghi
- ...
that Azio Corghi composed his second and third operas with author José Saramago, the second to be premiered at La Scala in Milan, and the third, Divara – aqua e sangue, in Germany at Theater Münster?Source: [1]- Reviewed: Killing of Sara-Nicole Morales
- Comment: Sorry, I am a day late - again, - travel - visitors - feast day - two many article subjects who died: I am sorry that it happened again. - This was in the early 1990s, before the author was a recipient of the Novel Prize (1998), but people should know that or find out why he is mentioned.

QPQ: Done. |
Overall: Improvements to article are well done and very informative. Good sources; information they cite checks out. Earwig detects no plagiarism. QPQ done. A few small issues. First, the expansion is just under 5x. Article was 264 words before present expansion to 1,197; it would need to reach at least 1,360 words to meet 5x requirements. Secondly, the hook is compelling, but tries to fit in too much. It would be best to just focus on the Saramago collaboration, which I think would be the most intriguing to a wider readership. (It was the reason I clicked on this DYK and article.) Finally, the source for the hook needs to be fixed. The one currently used leads to Hyperion liner notes about an unrelated work by Benjamin Britten. —CurryTime7-24 (talk) 16:15, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you for the review. Expansion is by characters, not words, and the checker passes this for me. Great that Saramago attracted you, but there be readers who haven't heard the name, however may know La Scala. I fixed the ref in this nom, was that what you meant? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:03, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
- The Ricordi link leads me to a 404 message. For the hook, my guess is that Saramago is more widely known than La Scala (and definitely both are better known than Theater Münster), but who knows? Regardless, I still believe it would be best for the hook to concentrate on one thing. Either an ALT that concentrates on just Saramago or one that focuses only on performance venues. The current ALT0 is really like two ALTs; it starts off one way, then ends with something else that doesn't seem directly related. I also don't understand why Corghi's third opera is explicitly mentioned in the ALT, but not his second. Again, it seems like the ALT0 is trying to do a lot of things at once, when it would be best to just focus on one. —CurryTime7-24 (talk) 17:16, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
- OK, now the Ricordi link works. Thanks for fixing it. (References to Saramago within the article worked fine, with offline source AGF.) The only issue is the ALT now, which would be more effective if split into two. —CurryTime7-24 (talk) 17:23, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
- One more issue I just caught now: the second half of ALT0 is incorrectly written in the future perfect. According to the cited source, both these operas have already been premiered and performed at the aforementioned venues, but ALT0 implies that these performances have not yet happened and are forthcoming. —CurryTime7-24 (talk) 21:42, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
- I saw it as relative to "composed": at the time he composed, the premiere was in the future, but I'm thankful for a native speaker - you perhaps? - rewording. As long as it's just a different wording of the same facts - which would be true for shortening as well - no new reviewer is required. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:00, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
- Your English is excellent and puts many native speakers, myself included, to shame. I think you'd be able to reword it without any problems; it would be better if you chose to write it in your own preferred way. —CurryTime7-24 (talk) 22:17, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
- blushing a bit:
- ALT0a: ... that Azio Corghi composed his second and third operas with author José Saramago, the second for La Scala in Milan, and the third for a 1993 premiere at the Theater Münster?
- This is much shorter, but still retains that he worked beyond Italy which I believe is good to know. Münster will look suffiently not-Italian to serve that purpose, and the title of the opera seems less important than the fact that it is notable enough to have an article. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:36, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
- Just take the italics out of "the third" in ALT0a and this DYK will be ready. —CurryTime7-24 (talk) 22:50, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
