2016 FA Cup final
[edit]... that Manchester United are looking to match Arsenal's FA Cup winners record by winning in the 2016 FA Cup Final against Crystal Palace today?

5x expanded by The Almightey Drill (talk) and The C of E (talk). Nominated by The C of E (talk) at 17:09, 24 April 2016 (UTC).
- Article is newly expanded. It's long enough, sufficiently neutral, well-cited and has no obvious copyvio issues. Hook is correctly formatted, interesting with no neutrality issues. QPQ done. I'm happy for it to be held back until the day of the final. Everything looks good. Retroplum (talk) 16:38, 27 April 2016 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, the QPQ review was not adequate, mentioning only age and length and hook. Reviews need to cover all DYK criteria, including close paraphrasing and neutrality—the nomination was just pulled from queue due to close paraphrasing/copyvio issues described in WT:DYK#Copyvio in Q4. Please submit a complete review to satisfy the QPQ requirement. BlueMoonset (talk) 06:42, 4 May 2016 (UTC)
- @BlueMoonset: I have reviewed Template:Did you know nominations/WWE Road to WrestleMania X8. Please re-add the green tick. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 08:29, 4 May 2016 (UTC)

- QPQ has been completed; restoring tick per Retroplum. Will be moving to special occasion area for May 21. BlueMoonset (talk) 18:10, 11 May 2016 (UTC)
- I don't know much about sports, but the hook confuses me. The article states that Manchester is "one behind in each record" to Arsenal after a total of 18 FA Cup finals. How can they "match" Arsenal's record if they're behind? Also, could you provide the sources for the information in the charts? Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 15:10, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
- I would also like to know if we can use the image in the article to lead off the prep set, as there will be several other FA Cup Final-related hooks in this set. Yoninah (talk) 15:13, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: I am fine with the image. With regard to the hook I thought it was clear when it said winners record. Nevertheless I have clarified it, so please restore the green tick. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 15:19, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
- @The C of E: where does it state the hook fact in the article? Yoninah (talk) 15:24, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: In the Background section where it says "Manchester United go into the final with a record of 11 wins from 18 FA Cup finals, one behind in each record to Arsenal." Winning it would match Arsenal's record. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 15:26, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
- Right, I see that. But the article doesn't say that they're looking to match Arsenal's FA Cup record. And what does "one behind in each record" mean? Please also remember the cites. Yoninah (talk) 15:38, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: I would say that they are given they want to win it (why else would they be in it?). One behind in each record means that they are one place behind Arsenal in FA Cup wins and FA cup final appearances. The RSSSF source very clearly confirms this but I have reworded the article to make it clearer. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 15:46, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: I have also added a new source but if it helps, I'll reword the hook to"
- ALT1: ... that Manchester United will match Arsenal's FA Cup winners record if they win in the 2016 FA Cup Final against Crystal Palace today? The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 15:52, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you for the changes. ALT1 is much better; you could also word it:
- ALT2: ... that Manchester United seeks to match Arsenal's FA Cup winners record with a win in the 2016 FA Cup Final against Crystal Palace today?
- And about the cites for the scores in the charts? Yoninah (talk) 16:01, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: A very minor issue in my view but I have done as you asked. Please restore the green tick. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 16:11, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
Thank you. Restoring tick per Retroplum's review. Yoninah (talk) 16:47, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
