1993 Congressional hearings on video games
[edit]( )
... that the formation of the Entertainment Software Ratings Board was prompted by US Senator Joe Lieberman through congressional hearings held in 1993?- ALT1:... that sales of the video game Night Trap were boosted following the 1993 US Congressional hearings on video game content ratings due to the game being one of those under debate?
- Comment: I need to do a QPQ. Will update once done. This is a new article drafted in user space, moved to mainspace and mostly complete.

- I see you still have the auto-generated text for a potential ALT hook in place. Do you have other hook ideas in mind, Masem, or is that just part of how this is incomplete along with the current lack of a QPQ? Snuggums (talk / edits) 21:38, 14 November 2018 (UTC)
- That's just incomplete. I think there's another one too. --Masem (t) 21:52, 14 November 2018 (UTC)
- There's the ALT (needed to make sure it wasn't a similar fact on any related article). Still need QPQ. --Masem (t) 21:56, 14 November 2018 (UTC)
- I personally prefer the ALT as more interesting. It's definitely a nuetral hook, and I will assume good faith with regards to accuracy and copyright as it is cited to an offline source that seems legitimate. Article is more than long enough and was moved from draft to main space less than 12 hours before nomination. We'll be good to go once you provide the QPQ. - FWIW, here's the quote for the alt, from Ultimate History of Video games Also, largely as a result of the publicity generated by the hearings, Night Trap had sold out all across the country. Sega CD had never been more than a niche product, with approximately 250,000 units sold in the United States. Had it not been for the hearings, Night Trap would have vanished as just another forgotten Sega CD game. Given new publicity from the hearings, it was later rereleased for both PCs and 32X. and "Sega wound up selling way more copies of MK1, probably as a result of the hearings. Night Trap came back to life. You know, I sold 50,000 units of Night Trap a week after those hearings." —Tom Zito --Masem (t) 04:31, 15 November 2018 (UTC)
