Usage

This template must be used over Template:CC-notice when repairing attribution errors. This can be helpful when salvaging original content from revisions with copyright violations that are less than four years of age.
Do not use this template for copyright violations if the content incorporated is more than four years of age, or if the copyright violation has been completely rolled back.
Parameters
[edit]- sourcepath: The URL of the source page.
- sourcearticle: The name of the page or section of the page being incorporated.
- revision: The permanent identification of the Wikipedia revision that incorporated the text. To get this, take the digits at the end of a permanent link, after "oldid=".
- author(s): the author or authors of the source. This may be needed to meet the "appropriate credit" provision of Creative Commons licenses, which provide (for examples in all of CC-By 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0) that: "If supplied, you must provide the name of the creator and attribution parties". This field is not always required, as some sources simply do not supply the authors, and for others (for example, Wikipedia content), it is specified that a link to the URL of a page, which has an accessible page history, is sufficient credit to its author or authors.

- You only need to use this template once to notify readers that the GFDL is invalid. After that, the diff page is enough to satisfy your linking obligations under CC-BY-SA 4.
- Still, some may prefer to use this template twice to notify that edits were made after {{copyvio}} was used,
- or to notify that multiple copyright violations were committed before {{CCBYSA4Source}} could be used,
- so avoid removing ostensible duplicates of {{CCBYSA4Source}}.
