Usage
[edit]If license is confirmed by notice on the website, please consider also using Template:Text release on the article's talk page.
This template is used to provide attribution when content has been imported from web sources that are dually licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0 and GFDL. The license must be verifiable, either in release placed on the website so imported or through permission documented via OTRS. (See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.)
This template contains five parameters:
|source=
– The name of the source website. Required.|sourcepath=
– The URL of the source page or website. Required.|sourcearticle=
– The name of the page or section of the page being incorporated. Optional. This field is not necessary or appropriate when multiple pages from the website are being used.|date=
– The date the template is placed. Five tildes will also work for this purpose. Required.|author=
– the author or authors of the source. This may be needed to meet the "appropriate credit" provision of many Creative Commons licenses, which provide (for examples in all of CC-By 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0) that: "If supplied, you must provide the name of the creator and attribution parties". This field is not always required, as some sources simply do not supply the authors, and for others (for example, Wikipedia content), it is specified that a link to the URL of a page, which has an accessible page history, is sufficient credit to its author or authors.|otrs=yes
– Indicates WP:VRT permission (also use {{Ticket confirmation}} on the talk page)
- All parameters:
{{Dual|source=SOURCE WEBSITE NAME|sourcepath=URL|sourcearticle=ARTICLE NAME AT SOURCE|date=date|author=NAME OF AUTHOR OR AUTHORS}}
- Absent a specific page or section name:
{{Dual|source=SOURCE WEBSITE NAME|sourcepath=URL|date=date|author=NAME OF AUTHOR OR AUTHORS}}
