This template displays the current fate of the 2020 Summer Olympics. The content may change if the games are postponed again or cancelled.

Usage

The above gives a remark in parentheses with no punctuation:

(postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic)

Note: The reason the reference tag is placed mid-clause is that if it were placed after the closing parenthesis, it might interfere with any further punctuation placed after the bracket (such as a comma or full stop, for example).

The above gives a full sentence with ending period:

The 2020 Olympics were postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Both versions make a reference with <ref>...</ref> so the article should have code to display references, typically {{reflist}} in a "References" section.
