Vega / de la Vega
[edit]The article says: "The character's name in Johnston McCulley's writing and previous adaptations was Diego Vega; the Disney version expands the name to Diego de la Vega, an innovation retained in some subsequent versions of the story."
However, Zorro contradicts this: "In McCulley's later stories, Diego's surname became de la Vega. In fact, the writer was wildly inconsistent." (note: McCulley's books were way before this series)
I think this inconsistency should be resolved. I am inclined to believe Zorro over this article, but having no knowledge of the question, I won't make the edit myself. My name is Jasper (talk) 18:48, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
I like Diego de la Vega better! Diego Vega sounds weird! In the movie, The Mark Of Zorro, the character's name is Diego Vega! In the Disney series it's Diego de la Vega! I think de la Vega sounds better! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Podruznik (talk • contribs) 04:23, 25 December 2009 (UTC)
Quotation
[edit]I removed the following quotation...
"I have no quarrel with history, but I am often appalled by the people who make it." - Diego, in the episode "Zorro Fights His Father."
...because having a quotation section seems little different than having a trivia section Cancilla (talk) 04:46, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
Date?
[edit]In what time period is the action of this show supposed to occur? Pre-Civil War? Post? Late 19th Century? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.92.174.105 (talk) 00:55, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
- I also think this information should be added to the article, if anyone has it. The concept/plot description seems to suggest that California is still under the control of Mexico at the time of the action, which would presumably date it to before 1848, the end of the Mexican-American War. Yet some of the settings seem to hint at a period later in the 19th century.
- So... anybody know when the action is supposed to be happening? Most other Wiki articles on TV westerns include this sort of information.
- The series is set in Spanish California in the year of 1820. This is the information the very first episode shows after the intro ends. I added the date to the plot summary. Bubbly (talk) 23:23, 31 August 2014 (UTC)
