Sourcing

[edit]

@Mewulwe:, the sourcing is complicated, I know that original research isn’t alowed. The french wikipedia added that he https://fr.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Gouverneur_de_Koror&oldid=161056663 was 1983-1985 Executive Administrator of Koror. I’ve spent a while researching in books, so maybe its made up. This source here https://islandtimes.org/flags-flown-half-mast-in-honor-of-former-minister-john-c-gibbons-rechucher-ra-ioulidid/ proves that John C. Gibbons was executive administrator from 1985 to 1997. To make it more complicated this source http://libweb.hawaii.edu/digicoll/ttp/ttp_htms/1762.html this source says he was sworn in as mayor. (Maybe he was mayor until 1985?). The picture in this article says he was sworn in as mayor in 1978. This source https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=s1NEdqvtd3IC&pg=PA624&lpg=PA624&dq=ibedul+gibbons+executive+administrator&source=bl&ots=4npU9uQRs4&sig=ACfU3U0JQTN1hbR4H2OzFw7vfnQIpx738w&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwja-tjt4ov0AhUnMuwKHbd3BiE4HhDoAXoECBcQAw#v=onepage&q=ibedul%20gibbons%20executive%20administrator&f=false talks about the executive administrator being appointed by traditional leaders. This source http://www.kororstategov.com/pdf/laws/K1-6-84%20Auditor.pdf by the Koror State Government mentions the executive administrator of Koror and was made in 1984, so the executive administrator position must have been a thing before John C. Gibbons. It is quite confusing, I just went with the french wikipedia because maybe they know something that I’m not seeing. I will probably just remove it, as original research is not allowed. @Mewulwe:, Nevermind, The French wikipedia sources the article to https://archive.wikiwix.com/cache/index2.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.worldstatesmen.org%2FPalau_States.html%23Koror World Statesman.org. But that website might not be reliable. Do you think the information should be added or just left off the article? Sahaib3005 (talk) 17:46, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not a reliable source. The fact here may well be correct, but I can't find definite enough sources. May just leave it as it is. Mewulwe (talk) 20:55, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ibedul GibbonsYutaka Gibbons – He is commonly known as both Yutaka Gibbons and Ibedul Gibbons and the guidelines discourage the use of titles e.g. King with a couple of exceptions such as Queen Victoria. It is also the title used on French Wikipedia. Also I created the article. Sahaib (talk) 13:44, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
